Day 1

Your 5-day Tanzania joining safari begins in Arusha, where you will meet your professional safari guide and fellow travelers before driving towards the Great Rift Valley. Along the way, enjoy views of Tanzania’s countryside, local villages and traditional Maasai communities. Stop in Mto wa Mbu, a vibrant multicultural town located near Lake Manyara National Park. Depending on the group’s schedule, you may have time to explore the local area, experience the town’s cultural atmosphere, or enjoy lunch. Continue to Karatu, a charming town located in the Ngorongoro Highlands. Karatu is an ideal base before entering the Serengeti and offers beautiful views of the surrounding coffee farms and rolling hills. Overnight in Country Lodge Karatu.

Day 2

Karatu – Serengeti National Park

Karatu – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart Karatu and drive towards the legendary Serengeti National Park. The journey takes you through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with spectacular highland scenery gradually giving way to the vast Serengeti plains. As you approach the park, the landscape opens into endless grasslands where wildlife can often be spotted even before reaching your accommodation. Enjoy an en-route game drive as you enter Serengeti, searching for lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and other wildlife. Depending on the season and location of the herds, you may also have the opportunity to witness part of the Great Migration. Continue to your accommodation for dinner and overnight at Tukaone Tented Camps.

Day 3

Serengeti National Park – Full-Day Game Drive

Serengeti National Park – Full-Day Game Drive

Spend the entire day exploring the magnificent Serengeti National Park on an exciting full-day game drive. The Serengeti is famous for its enormous concentration of wildlife and expansive savannah landscapes. Your experienced guide will follow wildlife activity and select the best areas for game viewing. Keep your eyes open for the Big Five, including lions, leopards, elephants and buffaloes, as well as cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, hippos, zebras and large herds of wildebeest. Depending on the season, you may witness the dramatic movements of the Great Migration. Enjoy a picnic lunch in a designated area before continuing your afternoon game drive. Return to your accommodation in the evening for dinner and overnight Tukaone Tended camps.

Day 4

Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu

Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu

After breakfast, depart Serengeti and drive towards the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy a scenic journey through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before descending approximately 600 metres into the crater for an unforgettable game drive. The crater floor supports an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and, with some luck, the endangered black rhinoceros. Enjoy a picnic lunch while surrounded by the dramatic crater scenery. After the game drive, ascend from the crater and continue to Karatu for dinner and overnight at Eileen's Trees Inn karatu.
