Transfer from Entebbe to Kisoro

After an early breakfast, your professional driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel or Entebbe International Airport for the journey to Kisoro in southwestern Uganda. The drive takes approximately 9–10 hours, passing through Uganda’s scenic countryside, rolling hills, banana plantations, tea estates, and vibrant rural communities.

Continue through Kabale and descend into the breathtaking Kisoro region with views of volcanic peaks and Lake Mutanda with lunch enroute. Later in the evening, have dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Mount Sabinyo Hiking Adventure

After an early breakfast, transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park headquarters for briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Begin your full-day adventure to Mount Sabinyo, one of East Africa’s most exciting volcano hikes. Mount Sabinyo rises to 3,669 meters above sea level and is famous for its unique summit where Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo meet. The hike takes approximately 7-8 hours depending on fitness and weather conditions.

The trail passes through diverse ecological zones which include; Bamboo Forest zone, Montane Forest, Heather zone and Alpine vegetation. A highlight of the hike is climbing steep volcanic ridges using wooden ladders before reaching the summit. At the top, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of: Mount Muhabura, Mount Gahinga, Mount Karisimbi
(Rwanda), Lake Mutanda and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Descend and return to your lodge for relaxation, Dinner and overnight.

Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga

After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing on gorilla trekking rules and safety. You will be assigned a gorilla family and guided into the forest by experienced Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. The trek may take 2-6 hours, depending on the movement of the gorilla family.
Along the way, enjoy sightings of; dense bamboo forest, forest birds, Butterflies and golden monkeys. Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one magical hour observing them in their natural habitat. After the experience, return to the park headquarters and receive your official gorilla trekking certificate. Transfer back to your lodge for a chilly afternoon and later in the evening visit the Batwa people and experience their culture. Dinner and overnight!

Lake Mutanda Canoe excursion & Punishment Island Visit

After breakfast, transfer to the scenic shores of Lake Mutanda, a beautiful crater lake surrounded by the Virunga Volcanoes. Board a traditional dugout canoe or motorized boat for a guided lake excursion. Visit the historic Punishment Island; where in the past unmarried pregnant girls were abandoned as punishment by their communities. Your guide will share the cultural history and transformation of this practice, making it a powerful educational and yet emotional experience. After lunch, continue exploring Lake Mutanda with optional activities like, bird watching, canoeing lakeshore walks and Community interaction and return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, enjoy a guided cultural experience around Kisoro and Lake Mutanda with activities including but not limited to; Visiting local markets, traditional homesteads, coffee, Vanila, banana plantations, local craft shops and traditional dance performances non touristic staged. In the afternoon, relax at your lodge or enjoy optional activities such as; Nature walks, bird watching and canoeing. Dinner and overnight at your accommodation.

Return to Entebbe

After breakfast, check out and begin your scenic return journey to Kampala or Entebbe. Lunch will be served en route in Mbarara. Optional stop at the equator for photography and souvenir shopping. Arrive in Kampala or Entebbe in the evening, marking the end of your safari.
