Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda

Your Ngoni Safaris driver-guide will collect you from your hotel or Kigali International Airport. After a short briefing, travel north through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside toward the Cyanika border.

After completing immigration formalities, enter Uganda and continue through the scenic highlands of Kisoro to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon and relax while enjoying views of the forest and surrounding hills.

Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Experience

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Bwindi park headquarters for registration and a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will then enter the rainforest in search of a habituated mountain-gorilla family.

The trek can take approximately 2–7 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location and forest conditions. Once you find them, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing and photographing the gorillas in their natural habitat.

After returning to the lodge for lunch and some rest, enjoy an optional Batwa community experience. Learn about the traditions, forest knowledge, music and daily life of one of the region’s indigenous communities.

Bwindi to Kigali, Rwanda

After breakfast, check out and begin the return journey to Rwanda. Cross the border and continue through Rwanda’s rolling hills to Kigali.

Depending on your flight schedule, you may stop for lunch or take a short Kigali city tour, including a visit to a local market or the Kigali Genocide Memorial. You will then be dropped off at your Kigali hotel or Kigali International Airport.
