Drive Nairobi to Solio Ranch & Ol Pejeta Wildlife Conservancy

7:00 am: You meet up with our hospitality representative at your hotel lobby/Airport. After introductions to your dedicated safari driver-guide and a pre-safari briefing, you depart via the Great North Road, through the famed Kenyan Central Highlands to the Equator Point just before Nanyuki Town for a brief stopover.

Here, the locals perform a water demonstration to mark the position of the equator, and for a small tip you will be awarded an ‘equator certificate’. You drive on to Solio Game Reserve, a private wildlife conservancy in the valley between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains. It is celebrated as the most successful private rhinoceros sanctuary in Africa. Other animals include lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, and antelopes like eland and oryx.

You arrive in time for lunch at Solio Game Lodge and thereafter enjoy an afternoon game drive in the private game reserve before driving on to your overnight destination, Ol Pejeta Wildlife Conservancy.

Ol Pejeta Wildlife Conservancy

You'll enjoy a full day in the conservancy with morning and afternoon wildlife viewing drives. Home to all the members of the Big Five (elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo and leopard), the conservancy has a higher wildlife-to-area ratio than any Kenyan national park and is one of only four private game conservancies to have been founded in Kenya.

At the forefront of the Kenyan conservancy program, the conservancy boasts the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, hosts the only Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Kenya, and shelters large numbers of rare and endangered species.

Ol Pejeta Wildlife Conservancy to Lake Naivasha

After an early breakfast in the camp, you check out and drive to Lake Naivasha, skirting the Aberdare Mountain range to Nyahururu Falls for a photo stop. Still known to many as Thomson's Falls, its waters fall 237 feet, making it the country’s highest waterfall. Enjoy magnificent views of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment en route.

You arrive in time for check-in and lunch at your resort, followed by free time at leisure to relax and enjoy a swim before embarking on a boat cruise on the lake. One of Africa’s most renowned freshwater lakes, and a boat safari ride here allows you to spot hippos and numerous bird species, including kingfishers, fish eagles, Herons, jacanas, and more. In terms of wildlife, the lake is home to over a thousand protected hippos, and the shores of the lake also host small numbers of giraffe, zebra, waterbuck, and the odd eland and wildebeest.

Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara National Reserve

After an early breakfast at the resort, you check out and drive on to Masai Mara National Reserve to arrive at your lodge/camp in the early afternoon for check-in.

Lunch is followed by an afternoon at leisure to relax and enjoy the lodge facilities that include a swimming pool that gives you sweeping views of the expansive Masai Mara plains.

You enjoy an afternoon game drive in the reserve. The Mara is also noted for its abundance of lions - particularly the superb black-maned males. You'll see lots of elephants here, often in large herds, as well as — if you're lucky— leopard, cheetah and rhino. All of the Big Five are residents. You're sure to see the African buffalo. Get the cameras ready, charge the batteries, and enjoy yourself!

Masai Mara National Reserve

Another day in the Mara to indulge in the wildlife extravaganza. As the northern tip of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara hosts the spectacular seasonal migration of thousands of wildebeest, zebras and attendant predators. This 650 sq kilometre reserve supports the highest density of game to be seen anywhere considering its size.

Drive Masai Mara to Nairobi

After an early breakfast in the camp, you will check out and drive to Nairobi to arrive in time for a farewell lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant hosted by our Directors to celebrate your Kenya Safari adventure.

The Carnivore is a meat speciality restaurant. At the restaurant, whole joints of meat, lamb, pork legs, exotic meats, sausages, chicken livers and wings, and even crocodile are skewered on traditional Masai swords and roasted over a huge charcoal pit!

Later, you will transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your travel home.
