Day 1

Nairobi – Masai Mara

Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive through the scenic Great Rift Valley towards the Masai Mara. Continue to the reserve, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge or camp.

In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive across the Mara's expansive grasslands. Look out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, lions and other wildlife. The Mara is particularly famous for its large populations of big cats.

Day 2

Day 3

Masai Mara - Lake Nakuru

Masai Mara - Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, leave the Masai Mara and drive towards Lake Nakuru in the Great Rift Valley. The journey takes you through rural Kenyan landscapes and Rift Valley scenery.

After lunch, enter Lake Nakuru National Park for an afternoon game drive. The park is set around the alkaline Lake Nakuru and is known for its rhino population, as well as buffalo, giraffe, zebra, waterbuck and other wildlife. You may also see flamingos and other waterbirds around the lake.

Day 4

Lake Nakuru – Aberdare

Lake Nakuru – Aberdare

After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park before departing for the Aberdare region.

Drive through the scenic central highlands towards The Ark, a unique forest lodge overlooking a waterhole and salt lick. After lunch, transfer to the lodge and check in.

The rest of the afternoon and evening are dedicated to relaxing at the lodge while watching wildlife congregate around the waterhole. Elephants, buffalo, warthogs, waterbuck and other animals frequently come to drink, making this a wonderful opportunity to observe wildlife from the comfort of the lodge.

Day 5

Wake up early at The Ark and spend the morning observing wildlife around the waterhole. This is often an excellent time for wildlife viewing as animals come to drink in the cooler morning hours.

After breakfast, check out and begin your journey north towards Samburu. The scenery changes dramatically as you leave the lush central highlands and enter Kenya's drier northern landscapes.

Cross the equator and continue towards Samburu National Reserve, arriving in the afternoon. After lunch and some time to relax, enjoy your first game drive in Samburu, looking for elephants, lions, leopards, reticulated giraffes, Grevy's zebras and other wildlife unique to northern Kenya.

Spend a full day exploring Samburu National Reserve and its surrounding wildlife areas.

Samburu is home to several species rarely encountered in Kenya's southern parks, including Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and Somali ostrich. The reserve is also well known for elephants and big cats.
