Kigali to Akagera National Park & Afternoon Game Drive

Meet your guide in Kigali in the morning and set off towards Akagera National Park, travelling through Rwanda’s scenic countryside.
Upon arrival, enjoy an afternoon game drive across the park’s beautiful savannah landscapes, keeping an eye out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes, and a variety of bird species.
As the afternoon unfolds, take in the changing scenery and peaceful surroundings before heading to the lodge for a relaxing evening, dinner, and overnight stay.

Akagera Game Drive & Sunset Boat Ride

Start your day with an early morning game drive through Akagera National Park, when wildlife is most active. Explore the park’s diverse landscapes and look out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes, and other wildlife.
After a picnic lunch, continue your adventure with a relaxing sunset boat ride on Lake Ihema, where you may spot hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of waterbirds along the shores.
Return to Karenge Bush Camp for dinner and overnight.

Akagera to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, leave Akagera National Park and travel north towards Volcanoes National Park.
Enjoy the changing scenery as you journey through Rwanda’s rolling green hills, terraced farmland, and picturesque countryside.
Upon arrival in the Musanze area, there may be time for an optional visit to the Dian Fossey Campus and Museum to learn about gorilla conservation and Dian Fossey’s legacy.
Continue to your lodge for check-in and a relaxing evening in the foothills of the Virunga Mountains.

Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Enjoy time observing these lively primates in their natural habitat before beginning your journey back to Kigali.
Take in the scenic countryside along the way and arrive in time for your evening departure flight, marking the end of your Rwanda adventure.
