Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

Your adventure begins with an early morning pick up from Nairobi. Drive north through the changing landscapes of Kenya towards Samburu National Reserve, enjoying scenic views of the countryside and Northern Kenya along the way.
Arrive at Sarova Shaba Game Lodge in time for lunch and check in. In the late afternoon, enjoy your first game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River and surrounding wilderness, beginning your search for the Samburu Special Five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa oryx and Somali ostrich. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Wake up early for a morning game drive when wildlife is most active. Continue your search for the Samburu Special Five, while also looking out for elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes and other wildlife across Samburu’s rugged landscapes.
Return to the lodge for breakfast and enjoy some time to relax. In the late afternoon, head out for an evening game drive, exploring different areas of the reserve and looking for more opportunities to spot the Samburu Special Five before returning for dinner and overnight.
