Nanyuki– Sirimon Gate 2650m – Old Moses Camp3300m

Transfer from Nairobi to Nanyuki by public van where you will break for lunch. After lunch drive to Sirimon gate where you will start hiking to old moses campsite. Trek from Sirimon gate to old moses is a distance of 9km that takes about 2 ½ - 3 hours trekking, passing through the forest of indigenous trees. Dinner and overnight in old moses campsite.

Old Moses Camp – Shiptons Campsite 4200m

-Hiking distance 14km : 6 - 8 hrs
-Height 3300 - 4200m

After breakfast leave old moses with a picnic lunch exactly at 7:00 am to shiptons camp a distance of 14 km a journey that takes 6-8 hours. Shiptons camp is located at the base of the highest peaks namely Batian and Nelion. Dinner and overnight in the tent at Shiptons camp.

Shiptons Campsite Acclimatization

After breakfast hike to Shipton's col 4585m for acclimatization and after enjoying the view descend back to Shipton's camp for lunch dinner and the 3rd night stay.

Shiptons Campsite - Lenana Summit 4985m - Chogoria Anabas Campsite

-Hiking distance 24km : 12-14hrs
-Height 4200m - 4985m - 2950m

Leave Shipton's camp at 3:00 am to attempt the summit a journey that takes 3 hours to reach the summit. Point Lenana is the third highest peak in Mt Kenya and the only one that can be reached by trekking. On a clear sky day, you can see Mt Kilimanjaro on southern side and Indian Ocean shining as the sun is rising. After enjoying the summit, descend down to mintos camp for full breakfast before proceed further down to Chogoria Anabas campsite where you will spend your last night in mt kenya national park.
