After breakfast, our guide will meet you at your Nairobi hotel and drive you to Amboseli National Park. Upon arrival, you will check in at your resort and enjoy a fresh lunch. Spend the afternoon at your leisure before embarking on an afternoon game drive.
Amboseli National Park is situated due south of Nairobi. Most of the park consists of a dry, ancient lakebed and fragile grassland with patches of acacia woodland, while the southern area has several small, rocky volcanic hills. Around the swamps of Ol Kenya, Ol Tukai, and Enkongo Narok, the vegetation is lush, with yellow-barked acacias and phoenix palms.

Rise early for a fresh breakfast and good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit. You will go on a morning game drive, followed by lunch at the resort and afternoon relaxation before an afternoon game drive. Despite its changing habitat, Amboseli National Park is possibly the best wildlife area in the whole of Africa to experience elephants at close range. Left unbothered by poachers, elephants feeding and bathing in the swamps form one of the highlights of any safari.

Day 3

After breakfast, your guide will transfer you to Namanga Town on the Kenya-Tanzania border. After immigration and customs formalities, you will depart for Tarangire National Park with packed lunch boxes in hand for a half-day game drive. Tarangire has a diverse landscape, with nine vegetation zones. Ancient baobab trees, the largest trees in Africa, dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them.
The Tarangire River, which meanders through the park, attracts an abundance of wildlife, from elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and antelopes to a variety of colorful birds. The park is famous for having the greatest elephant population in Tanzania, and during a safari, you will have the chance to quietly observe many elephant families interacting. You will be able to view animals drinking water from the river when you stop for lunch at an observatory within the park. Your game drive will then continue until you return to your lodge for dinner.

Your drive today is spectacular as you travel up the crater highlands, stopping at the rim for a bird’s-eye view of the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. As you crest the hillside, the vast Serengeti spreads out before you as far as the eye can see. Serengeti means “endless plains” in Kiswahili, and this 18,000 sq. km park is inhabited by more than two million large animals, including more than a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, and Thomson’s gazelles.
Large predators, including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, are drawn to the area by the abundance of migrating prey throughout the park. Many smaller animals, such as rock hyraxes, bat-eared foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, and African hares, also inhabit the area, along with nearly 500 species of birds. You will spend two nights at a camp in the Central Serengeti.

Day 5

Today, you will wake up very early for an early morning game drive before breakfast to spot the animals when they are more active and to enjoy a fantastic sunrise. An African savannah sunrise is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have. After the early morning game drive, return to the camp for a late breakfast.
After breakfast, go for more game drives, exploring the Central Serengeti region to watch the big cats and large herbivores. If the Great Migration is near the Central Serengeti at this time, you and your guide can follow the migrating herds. Return to your camp for a fresh lunch and afternoon relaxation, followed by an afternoon game drive. Later, drive back to your camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 6

After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and then descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, the eighth natural wonder of the world. With walls 2,000 ft high and a crater floor that covers 102 sq. miles, the crater is a virtual Noah’s Ark, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa, including the rare black rhino. In fact, the crater has one of the greatest concentrations of wildlife on the planet. It contains a river, several swamps, a soda lake that looks like steam from above full of flamingos, a forest, and open plains. The large bull elephants that reside here have extremely large tusks due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses. They are some of the most incredible elephants you’ll ever see in your life.
After the game drive, you will drive to Karatu for dinner and your overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will make your way to Lake Manyara National Park for a day of game drives with packed lunch boxes in hand. Although only 205 sq. miles in size, this enchanting park is noted for its beauty and incredibly lush acacia forest of giant fig and mahogany trees, which are home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys. The park is also home to large numbers of buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, impalas, and a lake where hippos usually gather.
Well known for its birds (over 400 different species have been recorded here), Lake Manyara is one of the few places where you’ll be able to see the ground hornbill and the crested eagle. This park has also become famous for its climbing lions and flamingos along the lakeshore. The landscapes of this park are absolutely stunning. Game drives are done along the lakeshore, providing incredible views of giraffes and buffaloes in the foreground, with the lake, flamingos, and flat plains on the horizon. You will then drive back to Arusha.
