Nairobi to Tsavo East National Park with Afternoon Game Drive

Your safari begins with an early morning pick up from Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), where your driver-guide will welcome you before setting off on the scenic drive toward Tsavo East National Park. Along the way, you'll break the journey with a stopover lunch, giving you a chance to stretch your legs and refuel before continuing on. On arrival at the park, you'll head straight into an afternoon game drive, taking in your first sightings of Tsavo's iconic wildlife as the golden afternoon light settles over the plains — keep an eye out for elephants dusted red from the park's distinctive soil. As the drive winds down, you'll check in at Sentrim Tsavo Lodge, where a welcome dinner awaits, followed by time to settle into your room and unwind after your first day in the wild.

Full-Day Tsavo East Game Drive with Bush Picnic

Today is dedicated entirely to game viewing, with a full day spent exploring the vast reaches of Tsavo East in search of its resident wildlife, including lion, buffalo, giraffe, and of course the park's famous red elephants, along with an abundance of birdlife across the open savannah and along the Galana River. Rather than returning to the lodge at midday, you'll stop for a bush picnic lunch out in the wilderness, dining amid the sounds and scenery of the park itself for a true safari experience. The game drive continues through the afternoon as you cover more ground and chase the best sightings, before heading back to the Lodge in the evening for dinner and a well-earned overnight rest.

Early Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Relaxation

Rise early for a game drive that begins in the cool hours of the morning, widely considered the best time to catch predators active and animals gathering at watering holes. You will have a bush breakfast as the sun rises. The drive continues through to the early afternoon, offering an extended window to track wildlife across different parts of the park. Once you return to the Lodge, the rest of the day is yours to relax after lunch— take a dip in the pool, enjoy the lodge's grounds, or simply unwind on your veranda after three action-packed days of exploring Tsavo East. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Tsavo East to Nairobi, Time for Departure

After breakfast at the lodge, it's time to bid farewell to Tsavo East as your safari comes to an end. Your driver-guide will transfer you back to Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), with packed lunch from Sentrim Lodge, bringing your 4-day wilderness adventure to a close, with wonderful memories, and hopefully a few great photographs to take home with you.
