Day 1
Moshi to Machame Gate to Machame Camp

Your Kilimanjaro adventure begins with a scenic 45-minute drive from Moshi to Machame Gate. After completing park registration, you will meet your experienced mountain crew and prepare for the trek. Youre porters will carry your main luggage, while your cook prepares fresh meals during the climb. This allows you to focus on the trail and enjoy the experience

The trek starts in Kilimanjaro’s beautiful rainforest, where you will walk beneath tall trees and thick green vegetation. You may see colorful birds, interesting plants, and black-and-white colobus monkeys in the trees. The trail climbs gradually, giving you time to enjoy the peaceful forest, fresh air, and sounds of nature.
After about 5–7 hours of hiking, covering approximately 11 km, you will arrive at Machame Camp at around 3,000 meters. Enjoy a hot meal prepared by your mountain crew before relaxing in your tent for your first night on Kilimanjaro at Machame Camp.

Day 2
Machame Camp to Shira Camp 1

After breakfast, you will leave Machame Camp and continue toward Shira Camp 1 at 3,500 meters. As you climb higher, the rainforest gradually changes into the open moorland zone. The landscape becomes more open, with beautiful views of the valleys and mountain slopes. You will pass giant heather, volcanic rocks, and unique high-altitude plants such as Giant Lobelia and giant
On a clear day, you can enjoy views across the Shira Plateau, with Kibo Peak rising in the distance. The hike covers approximately 9 km and takes around 4–5 hours.
When you arrive at camp, you can relax, enjoy a warm meal, and take in the beautiful mountain scenery. If the weather is clear, the sunset over the Shira Plateau is a wonderful way to end the day.
Day 3
Shira Camp 1 to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower
Shira Camp 1 to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower
After breakfast, you will leave the Shira Plateau and continue into Kilimanjaro’s high mountain area. The landscape becomes more rocky and dry as you gain altitude. After about 2–3 hours of hiking, you will reach Lava Tower at 4,630 meters. You will stop here for lunch and take some time to rest and allow your body to adjust to the altitude.
After lunch, you will begin your descent toward Barranco Camp at 3,950 meters. This is an important acclimatization day because you climb high and then sleep at a lower altitude.
Along the way, you may see giant lobelias, giant groundsels, and other plants that survive in Kilimanjaro’s harsh high-altitude environment. By late afternoon, you will arrive at Barranco Camp, with the impressive Barranco Wall rising nearby. After dinner, rest well in preparation for the next day.

Day 4
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
After breakfast, you will begin the famous Barranco Wall climb. Although the wall looks steep, the climb is manageable with the help of your guide. As you climb, you will enjoy beautiful views of the valleys, ridges, and surrounding mountain landscape.
After reaching the top of the Barranco Wall, the trail continues through rocky alpine terrain toward Karanga Valley. Along the way, you can enjoy views of Kibo and Mawenzi Peaks. On clear days, you may also see Kibo’s glaciers.
You may also spot giant lobelias and groundsels growing in this high-altitude environment. After about 3–4 hours of hiking, you will arrive at Karanga Camp at 4,035 meters. Take time to rest, enjoy a warm meal, and admire the beautiful mountain scenery.

Day 5
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
After breakfast, you will leave Karanga Camp and begin the trek to Barafu Camp at 4,640 meters. Although this is a short hiking day, it is an important part of your preparation for the summit.
The trail climbs steadily through rocky alpine terrain. Along the way, you will enjoy wide views of Kilimanjaro’s Southern Circuit. As you climb higher, you may see Mawenzi Peak, Kibo Peak, the Western Breach, and the glaciers of Kilimanjaro. You will reach Barafu Camp in the early afternoon.
After lunch, take time to rest, drink water, and prepare your clothes and equipment for the summit climb. Try to sleep early because your journey to Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters will begin around midnight.

Day 6
Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp
Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp
Around midnight you will begin the most challenging and exciting part of your Kilimanjaro adventure. The climb starts in darkness, and temperatures can be extremely cold. You will walk slowly and take regular breaks to save energy.
Your guides will help you maintain a steady pace as you climb toward Stella Point at 5,756 meters. As you approach Stella Point, the sun will begin to rise over Mawenzi Peak. This sunrise is one of the most beautiful moments of the entire climb.
From Stella Point you will continue along the crater rim until you reach Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters, the highest point in Africa. Take time to celebrate take photos and enjoy the incredible views before beginning your descent. After spending some time at the summit, you will descend to Barafu Camp for lunch and a short rest.
You will then continue down through the alpine desert and into the forest until you reach Mweka Camp in the late afternoon. After such a long day, enjoy dinner and get some well-earned rest.

Day 7
Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
After breakfast, you will begin your final descent through the beautiful Kilimanjaro rainforest toward Mweka Gate. The trail can be wet and muddy, so take your time and watch your step.
As you descend, you will enjoy the green forest and cooler air of the lower mountain. When you reach Mweka Gate, you will complete the park formalities and receive your Kilimanjaro summit certificate as a special reminder of your achievement.
From the gate, your vehicle will take you to the airport while celebrating your successful Kilimanjaro adventure.
