Keep watch for lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and other wildlife moving through the open plains and surrounding woodlands. A scenic bush picnic provides a memorable midday break in the wilderness before you continue your exploration.

Wake up in the heart of Ndutu and set out after breakfast for a full day of exploration across the Southern Serengeti.

This is your opportunity to experience the Great Migration at its most intimate, as vast herds of wildebeest and zebra gather across the open plains during the calving season. With your expert guide, explore the surrounding grasslands, woodland and lakes, watching for the predators that follow the herds, including lions, cheetahs, hyenas and leopards.

Enjoy a freshly prepared bush lunch in a scenic wilderness setting, allowing you to spend more time immersed in the landscape rather than returning to camp. Continue your game drive through the afternoon, taking in the ever-changing scenes of wildlife and migration.

Spend the day exploring the crater floor, where its fertile grasslands, forests, lakes and wetlands support an extraordinary concentration of wildlife. Keep watch for elephants, lions, hippos, flamingos and, with luck, the elusive endangered black rhino. Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch near one of the crater’s hippo pools, surrounded by the dramatic walls of this ancient volcanic landscape.
