Arusha to Ndutu – Great Migration Game Drive

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and begin your scenic journey from Arusha to Ndutu, covering approximately 260 km in about 5.5 hours. A packed lunch will be provided for the journey. After around two hours of driving, you will enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where the landscape changes from lush highland forests and rolling hills to vast open plains and grasslands.

As you approach Ndutu, the scenery opens into the endless plains of the Serengeti ecosystem. Ndutu is an important part of the annual Great Migration, when more than two million wildebeest, together with thousands of zebras, gazelles, and other antelope, move across the ecosystem.

From December to April, the Ndutu Plains become a spectacular calving ground, with thousands of newborn wildebeest attracting predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. The lakes and surrounding plains also support abundant wildlife. Upon arrival, enjoy a game drive before continuing to your Luxury tented lodge.

From December to late March, thousands of wildebeest gather in the area to give birth, creating an extraordinary wildlife spectacle across the open grasslands.

Spend the day exploring different areas of Ndutu in search of large herds, newborn calves, zebras, gazelles, and other wildlife. The abundance of young animals attracts numerous predators, offering exciting opportunities to observe lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and other carnivores in their natural environment.
