Exploring Lake Nakuru National Park

Set out for an early morning game drive, one of the best times to experience the park as wildlife becomes active in the cooler hours.

Spend the day exploring Lake Nakuru’s diverse landscapes, from open grasslands and acacia woodland to the lakeshore itself. Your private safari allows you to move at a comfortable pace, spending longer at wildlife sightings that interest you most.

You may encounter rhinos grazing in the distance, giraffes moving through the woodland or predators scanning the plains. Bird lovers will also appreciate the variety of species found around the lake.

Return to camp during the warmer part of the day for lunch and relaxation before heading out again in the afternoon. The changing light creates beautiful conditions for photography as you continue searching for wildlife.

End the day back at camp with dinner and time to unwind under the African night sky.

After breakfast, continue your journey towards one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations — the Maasai Mara.

The drive offers a changing picture of rural Kenya, passing through towns, countryside and open landscapes before arriving in the greater Mara ecosystem. Your dedicated guide remains with you throughout the journey, making the road safari feel personal and flexible rather than simply moving between destinations.

Arrive at your camp, settle in and enjoy lunch before beginning your first Maasai Mara game drive.

The Mara needs little introduction. Vast open plains create the perfect setting for wildlife viewing, and your first afternoon may bring encounters with elephant herds, giraffe, zebra, buffalo or one of the reserve’s famous big cats.

As the sun begins to set over the savannah, return to camp for dinner and overnight stay.

The Maasai Mara- Big Cats, Open Plains & Extraordinary Wildlife

Set out early for a morning game drive when the bush is at its most active. Your guide will track wildlife across the plains and follow fresh sightings, creating an experience that changes from one day to the next.

The Maasai Mara is renowned for its exceptional concentration of wildlife. Lion prides, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffalo and large herds of plains game are all part of the experience.

Return to camp for breakfast or brunch and enjoy time to relax before your afternoon safari. This break in the middle of the day allows you to enjoy your accommodation.

Later, head back into the reserve as the temperature cools. Afternoon drives offer another opportunity to witness predator activity and enjoy the Mara in the beautiful golden light of sunset.

Explore beyond the previous day’s routes and search for the wildlife not yet encountered.

Enjoy another morning game drive, following big cats across the plains, watching elephants move between feeding areas or discovering the smaller and often overlooked wildlife that makes the ecosystem so fascinating.

After returning to camp, spend the afternoon relaxing before heading out once again for your final afternoon safari.

Between approximately July and October, the wider Mara ecosystem can host the famous wildebeest migration, although wildlife movements are natural and sightings can never be guaranteed. Outside the migration period, the Maasai Mara remains an exceptional year-round safari destination with abundant resident wildlife.

Your final night in the bush, enjoy dinner and take in the atmosphere of one of Africa’s most iconic safari landscapes.
