Nairobi - Amboseli National Park

This being the first day of the trip, our driver will pick you up from your hotel or the airport and transfer you to Amboseli National Park. You are expected to arrive at the camp around lunchtime, check in, have lunch, and proceed for an afternoon game drive in Amboseli National Park. In the evening, you will return to the camp, where you can relax in your room, hang out by the poolside, or even enjoy a drink as you watch the sunset.

Amboseli National Park

Today you will go on a full-day game drive in Amboseli. Our driver will ensure that you do not miss seeing Mt. Kilimanjaro’s peak from the viewpoint in the park. You will see animals such as elephants, giraffes, and buffaloes, while bird lovers will have a chance to see birds like the oxpeckers riding on the elephants’ backs, helping to buffet ticks. In the afternoon you will have an interactive session with the Maasai community around the park and enjoy some dances as you learn about a new culture (cost not included). Later you will return to your lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner, and your overnight stay.

Amboseli National Park - Lake Nakuru National Park

Have breakfast at the lodge, check out, and enjoy a game drive as you leave the park en route towards Lake Nakuru. We will have a lunch stopover in Nairobi to meet and greet you as we sample traditional African delicacies such as Nyama Choma and kachumbari (charcoal-grilled goat meat served with a salad made of chopped onions, fresh ripe tomatoes, and a garnish of coriander). Upon arrival at Lake Nakuru you will check in at your lodge and then proceed on a game drive within the park, which is home to numerous animal species. During the game drive, you will see the huge numbers of flamingos concentrated along the lakeshore. In addition to the birdlife for which Lake Nakuru is so well known, there are many different wildlife species in the park, including lion, leopard, black rhino, white rhino, buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffe, zebra, impala, and waterbuck.

Lake Nakuru National Park - Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast at the hotel, your driver will then transfer you to the Masai Mara National Reserve, which is world-famous for hosting the Great Wildebeest Migration. You will arrive in the afternoon and check in, followed by lunch at the camp. The Masai Mara is an excellent place to see the Big Five and we will be keen to spot these animals in the wild. Before evening, you will return to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, we will have a full-day game drive in the Masai Mara. There are many bird and animal species to see, and our expert driver-guides will ensure you get up close to all the action as they provide information on animal behavior and so much more. You’ll get to experience a kill or two as the big cats venture to satiate their appetite for game meat. As barbaric as those hunts may seem, your guide's insightful wildlife lectures will offer a glimpse into the role played by every little act in the food chain toward the conservation of our ecosystems and life as we know it.

We will have our picnic lunch in the reserve around lunchtime. Add-ons for today include a hot air balloon safari in the morning or a visit to a Maasai village to learn about their culture and language. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the camp.
