Arrival & Khwai Wilderness

Your safari begins with a warm meet and greet at Maun Airport, where your guide will welcome you before you travel towards the Khwai Community Concession. Enjoy lunch along the way before continuing into the wilderness, keeping an eye out for birds along the route.

Upon arrival at camp, settle into your comfortable Meru-style mobile safari tent, offering a bed with a thick mattress, fresh linen and bedding, a private veranda, and an attached bathroom with a shower and toilet.

In the afternoon, head out on your first birdwatching drive, exploring the riverine areas, floodplains and surrounding woodland. Stop along the way for sundowner drinks before returning to camp for a freshly prepared dinner under the stars.

A Day of Birding & Discovery

Start the day with a relaxed breakfast at camp before heading out on a morning birdwatching drive. Explore the river and surrounding habitats in search of kingfishers, storks, herons, raptors, bee-eaters and other woodland and wetland species.

Return to camp for some time to relax before lunch. In the afternoon, head out again for another birding-focused drive, exploring different areas and adding new species to your list.

As the sun begins to set, enjoy sundowner drinks in the wilderness before returning to camp for dinner. If conditions allow, the evening can include a night drive or spotlighting experience, offering the chance to see nocturnal birds such as owls and nightjars.

Final Morning & Departure

After the drive, return to camp before enjoying lunch and preparing for your journey back towards Maun for your onward travel, taking with you memories of beautiful bird sightings and time spent in the African wilderness.
