You'll be picked up at Kilimanjaro International Airport and driven to Arusha, stopping along the way at a viewpoint for your first glimpse of Mount Kilimanjaro. After check-in, there's an optional city tour if you'd like to explore Arusha and get a feel for the country before the safari begins. In the evening, your guide briefs you on the trip ahead then it's time to relax and enjoy the hotel's amenities before an early start tomorrow.

Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire national park for game drive

After breakfast at 8:00 AM, head to Tarangire National Park, known for its massive elephant herds and baobab-dotted plains. Enjoy a game drive spotting elephants, lions, buffaloes, wildebeest, warthogs, and a rich variety of birdlife — vultures, eagles, and more. A stop at the hippo pool offers a close-up look at hippos wallowing in the water. Lunch is a boxed meal enjoyed inside the park. Afterward, transfer to Karatu for the night, with dinner and accommodation at Karatu Villa Lodge.

Karatu to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, drive from Karatu to Serengeti about 3 hours including stops passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a 20-minute stop to take in the views. The Serengeti is home to the great migration, over 1.5 million wildebeest and 250,000 zebra moving together for survival, and our focus here is Seronera, the heart of the park. Arrive in the afternoon, have lunch, then head out for a game drive through Seronera into the late evening timed to catch a Serengeti sunset before settling in for the night.

After an early breakfast, set out for a game drive while predators are most active, then continue the drive as you exit the Serengeti toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying a picnic lunch inside the park along the way. In the afternoon, visit a Maasai boma to learn about the culture and traditions of this iconic tribe from their historic warrior rites to their deep, enduring connection with the land and its wildlife. Afterward, continue to your lodge near the Ngorongoro Crater for the night.

Day 5

After an early breakfast, descend into the crater at 6:15 AM in search of the black rhino and the rest of the Big Five a real chance to spot them, thanks to the sheer concentration of wildlife packed into this single, extraordinary landscape. Rhinos remain the toughest sighting, but the crater floor makes most other animals easier to find than almost anywhere else. After lunch, continue the game drive as you ascend out of the crater, then pack up for the drive back to your hotel in Arusha.
