Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for Canoe Ride

After an early breakfast, your Wagatil Safaris guide will take you to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking guidelines. Meet your local guides and trackers before heading into the forest to find your assigned gorilla family. Trekking may take one to six hours, sometimes longer, depending on the gorillas’ location and terrain.

The trails can be steep, muddy, and uneven, but the forest scenery and encounter with mountain gorillas make the effort worthwhile. Once you locate the family, spend one hour watching their interactions and taking photographs.

Bring plenty of drinking water, sturdy hiking boots, long trousers, gloves, and a raincoat. Keep your camera in a waterproof bag, as rain can fall unexpectedly. After the trek, reunite with your guide and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for a relaxing evening.
