Your Tanzania safari begins in Arusha where after breakfast you'll head south to Tarangire National Park one of northern Tanzania's most underrated wildlife destinations. The landscape opens into golden savannah dotted with ancient baobab trees some believed to be over a thousand years old. Tarangire has one of Africa's highest concentrations of elephants and it won't take long to spot a herd making its way to the river calves close to their mothers. Spend the afternoon on your first game drive, watching for giraffe, buffalo, zebra and tree-climbing pythons resting in the baobabs. As the sun lowers, the park glows orange a fitting first taste of the wild. Arrive at Lodge as evening settles dinner served under a sky thick with stars and the sounds of the bush all around you.

Day 2
Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
After an early breakfast, depart Tarangire and head toward the Serengeti arguably the most famous wildlife destination on Earth. The route climbs into the Ngorongoro highlands and along the way you'll catch breathtaking views of the Ngorongoro Crater a vast volcanic caldera stretching below like a hidden world. Continue on until the land opens into the endless grassland plains that give the Serengeti its name a Maasai word meaning "endless plains." Arrive at camp in time for lunch then head straight out on an afternoon game drive across some of the richest wildlife territory in Africa. This is prime lion leopard and cheetah country with sightings possible at any moment. As light softens toward evening return to camp for dinner beneath a sky turning orange and purple.

Day 3
Full Day in the Serengeti
Full Day in the Serengeti
Start today before sunrise with an early morning game drive across the Serengeti this is when the park feels most alive. Predators that hunted through the night are often still active and the cool air and soft early light make for the best photography of the trip. There's a stillness hard to describe mist rising off the grass birdsong just beginning the plains waking up around you. Return to camp for breakfast then begin the drive out of the Serengeti toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with wide views back across the plains as you climb into the highlands. Arrive at Simba Camp perched right on the crater rim in time to watch the sun set over the Ngorongoro Crater below one of the most spectacular campsite views in all of Tanzania.

Day 4
Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Wake early at Simba Camp with the crater already visible below you and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full morning game drive. Formed by a collapsed volcano millions of years ago the crater holds one of the densest concentrations of wildlife in Africa including the chance to spot the endangered black rhino alongside lion, elephant, hippo, and flamingo lined soda lakes. The scale is hard to take in an entire ecosystem contained within crater walls wildlife moving freely across grassland swamp and forest all in view. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater before climbing back up to the rim and beginning the drive back to Arusha arriving in the evening for a night's rest in town.

Day 5

Your final day shifts from savannah to rainforest as you travel to Materuni village on the lush slopes of Kilimanjaro. The landscape transforms completely thick greenery terraced coffee farms and cool mountain air replace the open plains of the days before. Meet a local guide for a coffee tour through Materuni's farms learning the full journey of Chagga coffee from bean to cup including traditional roasting and grinding methods. Continue on foot along forest trails to Materuni Waterfalls, where water plunges dramatically into a pool below a refreshing, scenic end to your Tanzania adventure. Many guests cool off in the pool before the final drive back to Arusha closing out a journey from wildlife to waterfalls.
