Depart Addis Ababa in the morning and drive east toward Awash National Park. Upon arrival, visit the stunning Awash Falls and explore the scenic gorge. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive across the savannah to spot beisa oryx and baboons. In the evening, arrive at our campsite. You will stay in spacious mid-range tents larger than 3x3m equipped with normal beds, a private veranda, and an attached bathroom featuring a toilet, shower, and sink. While our professional staff takes care of heavy camp chores like cooking, guests assist with light semi-participation tasks such as setting up personal gear.

Day 2

After breakfast, depart Awash National Park and journey toward Semera. En route, embark on an exciting game drive through the vast, open grasslands of the Alledighe Wildlife Reserve in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle. Keep your camera ready to spot unique wildlife species, including Grevy's zebras, Beisa oryx, Grant's gazelles, and Somali ostriches roaming the expansive plains. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the scenic wilderness before continuing your drive deeper into the Afar region. Arrive in Semera by late afternoon, check into your mid-range hotel, and unwind with a delicious dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Depart Semera and drive deep into the remote Danakil Depression. Stop at Asebo to observe the local Afar people traditionally cutting and mining salt blocks, loading them onto camel caravans. Continue to Dallol, situated well below sea level, to explore its surreal, multi-colored mineral springs, sulfur terraces, and striking salt canyons. In the afternoon, proceed toward Lake Assal and head to Hamedela village to relax and experience a magnificent sunset over the desert landscape.

Depart Hamedela in the morning and drive across vast, hardened lava fields toward the base of the active Erta Ale shield volcano at Dodom. As temperatures cool in the late afternoon, begin your trek up to the rim of the volcano while local handlers and camels carry your sleeping gear and provisions. Arrive at the summit just in time to witness an awe-inspiring sunset and spend the evening safely looking down into the world's longest-standing persistent lava lake, glowing brightly under the desert stars.
