You will receive a warm welcome before transferring to your hotel in Kigali or continuing to Volcanoes National Park, depending on your arrival time and travel plan. Enjoy the scenic journey through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside, with green hills, local communities and farmland along the way. After checking in, you can relax at the lodge and prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure. Your guide will brief you about the trekking experience, what to carry and the general guidelines for visiting the gorillas.

Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing before beginning your gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park. The trek takes you through the forested slopes of the Virunga Mountains as you search for a habituated mountain gorilla family. The duration of the trek varies depending on the location of the gorillas. Once you find them, you will have time to observe their behaviour and take photographs while following the park’s guidelines. After the trek, return to your lodge, enjoy lunch and spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing or exploring the surrounding area.

Kigali City Tour & Transfer to the Airport

After breakfast, travel back to Kigali for a city tour before your departure. Depending on your flight time, visit some of Kigali’s important attractions and experience the city’s clean streets, local markets and vibrant atmosphere. You may also visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where you can learn about Rwanda’s history and the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Continue with a drive through different parts of the city before enjoying some free time for shopping or refreshments. Your guide will then transfer you to Kigali International Airport in time for your departure flight, marking the end of your Rwanda adventure.
