Upon arrival at Ivato International Airport, you will be welcomed by our Friendly Tour Guide Madagascar representative and transferred to your hotel in Antananarivo. After completing the arrival formalities, you can settle in and relax at the hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may have some free time to take a short walk around the city or simply rest before starting your adventure through Madagascar.

Day 2

Antananarivo to Andasibe via Peyrieras Reserve

Antananarivo to Andasibe via Peyrieras Reserve

After breakfast, depart Antananarivo and head east along the scenic RN2 toward Andasibe. On the way, stop at Peyrieras Reserve, where you can observe Madagascar’s fascinating reptiles, including chameleons, frogs, and other endemic species. Continue through the green landscapes and traditional villages toward Andasibe. After checking into your hotel and having some time to relax, enjoy an evening nature walks at a community reserve, looking for nocturnal lemurs, frogs, chameleons, and other wildlife that becomes active after sunset.

Day 3

Analamazaotra Rainforest and Vakona Reserve

Start the day with a guided exploration of Analamazaotra National Park, one of the best places in Madagascar to encounter the famous Indri lemur. Walk through the lush rainforest while listening for the distinctive calls of the Indri and searching for other lemur species, endemic birds, reptiles, and unique plants. After the morning visit, enjoy lunch and continue to Vakona Private Reserve in the afternoon. Explore its forested areas and small islands for a nature walks, where several lemur species can be observed in a beautiful natural setting. Return at your hotel in the evening.

After breakfast, leave Andasibe and begin the journey toward Antsirabe, traveling through the changing landscapes of Madagascar’s central highlands. The road takes you through rural villages, rice fields, cultivated hills, and traditional Malagasy communities. Along the way, you will see how the landscape gradually changes from the humid eastern rainforest to the cooler highlands. Arrive in Antsirabe later in the day, check into your hotel, and enjoy some time to rest after the long drive.

Antsirabe to Kirindy Forest

Leave Antsirabe early in the morning for the long journey toward Kirindy Forest in western Madagascar. The route crosses the central highlands before gradually entering the drier landscapes of the west. Continue through rural areas and local villages before reaching the region of Kirindy. After arrival and check-in, take some time to relax and prepare for an evening wildlife experience. At night, join a guided night walk in Kirindy Forest, where you may encounter nocturnal lemurs, chameleons, frogs, insects, and, with some luck, the famous fossa.

Kirindy Forest to Bekopaka

Begin the morning with a guided visit to Kirindy Forest, exploring its dry deciduous forest and searching for some of Madagascar’s most characteristic wildlife. Keep an eye out for lemurs, birds, reptiles, and other species that inhabit this unique ecosystem. After the visit, continue toward Bekopaka, the gateway to Tsingy de Bemaraha. The journey is an adventure in itself, including crossings of local rivers by ferry and travel through remote western landscapes. Arrive in Bekopaka in the afternoon and settle into your accommodation.

Day 7

Bemaraha National Park

Bemaraha National Park

Today is dedicated to exploring the spectacular Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Madagascar’s most extraordinary natural landscapes. With a local guide, follow the trails through towering limestone formations, narrow passages, caves, canyons, and suspension bridges. Depending on the chosen circuit and conditions, explore the Big Tsingy or Small Tsingy area and enjoy panoramic views over the surrounding landscape. After the excursion, return to Bekopaka for a well-deserved rest.

Bekopaka to Morondava via Baobab Avenue

Bekopaka to Morondava via Baobab Avenue

After breakfast, begin the journey from Bekopaka toward Morondava, crossing the rivers and continuing through the characteristic landscapes of western Madagascar. As you approach Morondava, make a stop at the famous Baobab Avenue, home to some of Madagascar’s most iconic and impressive trees. Take time to walk around, photograph the towering baobabs, and enjoy the spectacular scenery. If the timing is suitable, experience the avenue during sunset, when the baobabs create a particularly memorable landscape. The tour ends in Morondava after this final highlight.
