Arrival in Gondar & City Sightseeing

Arrive in Gondar and meet your guide at the airport. Transfer to your hotel and have some time to relax.

After lunch, begin a sightseeing tour of Gondar, the former imperial capital of Ethiopia.

Places to visit:
Royal Enclosure (Fasil Ghebbi) – the historic palace complex of the former Ethiopian emperors.

Fasilides’ Bath – a beautiful historic royal bathing pool.

Debre Birhan Selassie Church – famous for its beautiful ceiling paintings.

Gondar market and local areas.

In the evening, enjoy a traditional Ethiopian dinner and coffee ceremony.

Gondar to Simien Mountains – Sankaber

After breakfast, drive from Gondar to Debark, the main gateway to Simien Mountains National Park.

After completing the park entrance formalities, continue driving into the mountains to Sankaber.

After lunch, begin a short hike along the spectacular mountain escarpment. You may see Gelada baboons and enjoy beautiful views of the valleys and cliffs.

Birds you might see Tawny Eagle, Peregrine Falcon, Thick-billed Raven, White billed Starling, Wattled Ibis, Bearded Vulture, African Goshawk, Augur Buzzard....

Trekking: Approximately 3–4 hours
Overnight: Sankaber Camp.

Hick From Sankaber to Geech

After breakfast, start trekking from Sankaber toward Geech Camp.

The trail follows the dramatic escarpment and offers magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

On the way, visit Jinbar Waterfall, one of the highlights of the Simien Mountains.

Continue walking to Geech Camp. In the evening, enjoy the peaceful mountain scenery and, if weather permits, a beautiful sunset.
Birds you might see, Abyssinian Thrush, Abyssinian Slaty-flycatcher, Yellow-Bellied Waxbill, Egyptian Vulture, Gabar Goshawk, Northern Fiscal.

Geech – Imet Gogo – Chenek

After breakfast, continue trekking toward Imet Gogo, one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the Simien Mountains.

From the viewpoint, enjoy panoramic views of the deep valleys, cliffs and surrounding mountains.

Continue the trek through the highlands toward Chenek. Along the way, look for Gelada baboons and the endemic Walia ibex & Red fox

Arrive at Chenek in the afternoon and relax at the campsite.

Overnight: Chenek Camp.

Chenek -- Gondar -- Addis Abeba & Departure

Wake up early and enjoy a short morning walk around Chenek. This is another opportunity to see Gelada baboons and, depending on luck, Walia ibex.

After breakfast, drive from Chenek through Debark back to Gondar.

Have lunch in Gondar before transferring to Gondar Airport for your onward flight Depending on your arrival time, you will have a short city tour of Addis Ababa.

Visit the National Museum of Ethiopia, where you will see the famous fossil remains of Lucy, one of the world’s most important early human ancestors.

Afterward, continue to Merkato, one of the largest open-air markets in Africa. Explore the busy market streets and experience the local atmosphere and daily life of Addis Ababa.
Tour ends in Addis Abeba.
