Begin with a morning pickup in Moshi and a short scenic drive up the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro to Materuni Village. Set out on a guided hike through lush banana and coffee farms to the stunning 80-meter Materuni Waterfall for a refreshing stop and photos. Afterwards, participate in a traditional Chagga coffee-making process, learning how beans are harvested, hand-roasted, and brewed while singing local traditional songs. Enjoy a hot, freshly prepared local Chagga lunch at the village. Arusha to Tarangire National Park to Karatu

After an early breakfast, depart Arusha and drive west across the Maasai Plains to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its ancient baobab trees and sprawling elephant populations. Embark on an extensive game drive following the Tarangire River circuit, where animals gather to drink. Spot large herds of elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and impalas, while keeping a close watch for tree-climbing lions, leopards, and colorful bird species. Enjoy a packed picnic lunch at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the river valley. Continue tracking wildlife through the afternoon across the park’s savannahs and acacia woodlands. As evening approaches, exit the park and drive up the Great Rift Valley escarpment to Karatu for dinner and your overnight stay.

Karatu to Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha / Departure

Head out early in the morning into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, descending 600 meters into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater floor for an action-packed game drive. Formed by a massive volcanic collapse, this intact caldera forms a natural sanctuary harboring over 25,000 large mammals. Drive across open plains and fever-tree forests in search of the Big Five, including the endangered black rhino, lions, buffaloes, leopards, and big tusker elephants. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool at Ngoitokitok before observing thousands of flamingos at Lake Magadi. In the early afternoon, ascend the steep crater walls and begin your return journey eastward through Arusha or onward to your final destination, concluding your 3-day adventure.
