Nairobi to Maasai Mara | The Adventure Begins

Leave Nairobi in the morning with your driver-guide and travel towards the Maasai Mara in your shared pop-up-roof safari van. Pause at a Great Rift Valley viewpoint for sweeping views and photographs before continuing through the countryside. Stop for lunch along the way, then make your way towards the Mara’s open landscapes. Arrive at your budget camp, check in and enjoy time to relax after the journey. Dinner and overnight are at camp. There is no evening game drive on Day 1. If your arrival time allows, you may request an optional Maasai village visit for an additional USD 10 per person, subject to availability.

Maasai Mara | Full Game Drive

After breakfast, take a packed lunch and set out for a full-day game drive in the Maasai Mara. Explore its grasslands and riverine areas with your driver-guide, watching for lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras and other wildlife. The animals move freely, so each drive brings its own possibilities. Take time to observe and photograph sightings, then pause for your packed lunch before continuing through the reserve in the afternoon. As the day draws to a close, return to your camp to share stories from the drive over dinner. Spend a second night near the Mara.

Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru | Changing Landscapes

Enjoy breakfast at camp before departing for Lake Nakuru. As you leave the Mara behind, watch the landscape change from broad savannah to the farms, towns and escarpments of the Rift Valley. Stop for lunch along the route and continue to Nakuru, where you will check in at your budget hotel. The evening is yours to rest after the drive and prepare for tomorrow’s wildlife viewing. Enjoy dinner and overnight at the hotel. This is a travel day with no game drive scheduled, giving you time to recharge between the Maasai Mara and Lake Nakuru’s different habitats.

Stop for lunch along the way before continuing towards the plains near Mount Kilimanjaro. Arrive at your budget camp near Amboseli, check in and enjoy time to rest. On a clear day, you may catch your first view of Kilimanjaro rising beyond the landscape. Dinner and overnight are at camp. No game drive is scheduled today; your full-day Amboseli adventure begins tomorrow.

Amboseli | Full Game Drive

Enjoy breakfast, collect your packed lunch and head into Amboseli National Park for a full-day game drive. Explore the open plains and wetlands with your driver-guide while searching for the elephant herds for which the park is famous. You may also encounter buffalo, zebras, wildebeest and many bird species. Pause for your packed lunch during the day, then continue wildlife viewing in the afternoon. When the skies are clear, Mount Kilimanjaro creates a magnificent backdrop; mountain views and wildlife sightings depend on conditions. Return to camp for dinner and your final overnight stay on safari.

After breakfast at camp, say goodbye to Amboseli and begin the drive back to Nairobi. Travel through the countryside with your fellow guests, stopping for lunch along the way. Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon for drop-off and the end of your seven-day safari. You leave with memories of a full day in the Maasai Mara, rhino country at Lake Nakuru, the calm shores of Naivasha and Amboseli’s elephants beneath Mount Kilimanjaro. No game drive is scheduled on Day 7. Breakfast and lunch are included; there is no overnight accommodation.
