Nairobi to Samburu

Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive north through the scenic countryside towards Samburu. Arrive at the reserve in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive.

Samburu is famous for its unique wildlife, including the Samburu Special Five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa oryx, and Somali ostrich. You may also encounter elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and numerous bird species.

Dinner and overnight at your lodge or tented camp.

After breakfast, enjoy a full day exploring Samburu National Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives.

Discover the reserve's dramatic landscapes, riverine forests, and wildlife-rich plains. Keep your camera ready for elephants along the Ewaso Ng’iro River, big cats, giraffes, zebras, and the reserve's distinctive northern species.

Return to your camp for dinner and overnight.

Samburu to Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, depart Samburu and drive south towards the Great Rift Valley. Continue to Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch.

Enjoy an afternoon game drive around the park, which is known for its scenic lake, rhino conservation, and diverse wildlife. Look out for rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, waterbucks, and, with luck, lions and leopards.

Dinner and overnight near Lake Nakuru.
