4-Day Bwindi Gorilla Trek & Lake Bunyonyi Experience

Arrival and Forest Gateaway

Arrive at Kigali International Airport. Meet your Still Wild Safaris guide in the arrivals hall (the guide will hold a sign with your name). Transfer to your safari vehicle and begin the scenic 5-hour drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Travel through Rwanda's lush highlands, cross into Uganda, and pass through villages and tea plantations. Arrive at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge mid-afternoon (approximately 1:00–2:00 PM). Check in to your room, freshen up, and rest from travel. At 4:00 PM, enjoy an optional evening orientation walk around the lodge grounds with your guide, learning about the local forest and wildlife. At 6:30 PM, welcome dinner at the lodge restaurant with an introduction to your guide team and briefing on tomorrow's gorilla trek.

From Forest to Lake - Relaxation Day

Check out after a leisurely breakfast and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi (1.5-hour scenic drive). Arrive at Bunyonyi Overland Resort overlooking 29 pristine islands. Settle in and enjoy an afternoon of complete relaxation—swim in the lake, lounge on the deck, or take an optional sunset walk. This is your recovery day before the final activity. Dinner at the resort restaurant featuring fresh local fish.

Lake Adventure & Airport Return

Early morning kayaking adventure across calm waters. Paddle to Punishment Island (historical site) and Bushara Island, spot waterbirds and fish eagles, and swim in the clear lake. Return to resort for brunch. Afternoon departure on the 6-hour drive back to Kigali, arriving at Kigali International Airport in the late evening (approximately 6:30–7:00 PM). Drop-off at the airport for your onward flight.
