Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your Tavira Africa Safaris driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel or Kigali International Airport. You will leave Kigali and travel through Rwanda’s beautiful countryside toward the Uganda border. After completing immigration formalities, continue through the scenic highlands of southwestern Uganda to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Along the way, enjoy views of rolling hills, local communities and cultivated valleys. You will arrive at your lodge in the afternoon, check in and spend the evening relaxing as you prepare for the following day’s gorilla trekking experience.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will then enter Bwindi’s rainforest with an experienced ranger-guide to search for a habituated mountain gorilla family.

The trek can take several hours depending on the location of the gorillas and forest conditions. Once you find the gorillas, you will spend up to one hour observing them in their natural habitat before trekking back to the starting point.

After the experience, meet your driver-guide and continue to Lake Bunyonyi. Check into your lakeside accommodation and enjoy the peaceful scenery of the lake, its islands and surrounding terraced hills.

Transfer from Lake Bunyonyi to Kigali

After breakfast, enjoy the beautiful morning views over Lake Bunyonyi. Depending on your schedule, there will be time to relax at the lodge and enjoy the surrounding scenery before starting the journey back to Rwanda.

Drive through the scenic highlands of southwestern Uganda, cross the Uganda-Rwanda border and continue to Kigali. Your driver-guide will drop you at your hotel or Kigali International Airport, marking the end of your 3-day gorilla trekking safari.
