Your Tavira Africa Safaris driver-guide will pick you up from Entebbe or Kampala after breakfast. Begin the scenic drive west toward Kibale National Park, passing through rural communities, tea plantations and the beautiful landscapes around Fort Portal. You will stop for lunch along the way before continuing to the Kibale area. On arrival, check into your mid-range lodge and spend the evening relaxing as you prepare for the following morning’s chimpanzee tracking experience.

Day 2
Chimpanzee Tracking and Queen Elizabeth NP

After breakfast, transfer to the Kibale National Park briefing point before entering the rainforest with an experienced ranger-guide. Search for a habituated chimpanzee community and, once located, spend up to one hour observing the chimpanzees in their natural habitat. After the trek, have lunch and continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy beautiful views of the Rwenzori Mountains and, depending on arrival time, take an evening game drive before transferring to your lodge.

Day 3
Queen Elizabeth Wildlife and Transfer to Bwindi

Start the day with an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, searching for elephants, buffaloes, antelopes and other wildlife across the savannah. After breakfast or a packed meal, continue south toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing through the Ishasha region and the scenic countryside of southwestern Uganda. Arrive at your Bwindi lodge later in the day, check in and relax while preparing for your mountain gorilla trekking experience the following morning.

Day 4

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Bwindi park headquarters for registration and a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Enter the rainforest with your ranger-guide and trek in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. Once the gorillas are located, enjoy up to one hour observing them. After completing the trek, meet your driver-guide and continue to Lake Bunyonyi. Check into your lakeside accommodation and enjoy a peaceful evening surrounded by islands and terraced hills.

Day 5
Transfer from Lake Bunyonyi to Entebbe
Transfer from Lake Bunyonyi to Entebbe
Enjoy breakfast overlooking Lake Bunyonyi before beginning the journey back to Entebbe. Drive through the rolling landscapes of southwestern Uganda with a lunch stop along the route. You can also stop at the Uganda Equator for photographs, refreshments and souvenir shopping. Continue to Entebbe, where your driver-guide will drop you at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport, marking the end of your 5 day Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee safari.
