Transfer from Entebbe to Kibale National Park

Your Tavira Africa Safaris driver-guide will pick you up from Entebbe or Kampala and begin the scenic drive to Kibale National Park. Travel through Uganda’s countryside, passing tea plantations, villages and the beautiful landscapes around Fort Portal. Stop for lunch along the way before continuing to your mid-range lodge near Kibale. Check in, relax and prepare for the following morning’s chimpanzee tracking experience.

Day 2

Chimpanzee Tracking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth

After breakfast, transfer to Kibale National Park for a briefing before entering the rainforest with an experienced ranger-guide. Search for a habituated chimpanzee community and, once found, spend up to one hour observing them. After the trek, return for lunch and continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy the changing scenery as the forest gives way to open savannah before checking into your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Start the day with an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park in search of elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, lions and other wildlife. Return for breakfast and relaxation before an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, famous for its high concentration of hippos, water birds and wildlife along the shoreline. After the cruise, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha

After breakfast, drive south through Queen Elizabeth National Park toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Pass through the Ishasha sector, where you may encounter wildlife including the famous tree-climbing lions when conditions allow. Continue through the scenic highlands of southwestern Uganda and arrive at your mid-range lodge near Bwindi. Check in, relax and prepare for the next morning’s gorilla trekking experience.

Gorilla Trekking Experience and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Bwindi park headquarters for registration and a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Enter the rainforest with your ranger-guide and trek in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. Once found, spend up to one hour observing the gorillas. After the trek, meet your driver-guide and continue to Lake Bunyonyi for a peaceful evening overlooking the lake, islands and terraced hills.

Depending on arrival time, enjoy an evening game drive in search of zebras, impalas, buffaloes, giraffes and other wildlife before returning to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Spend the afternoon relaxing at the lodge or enjoy an optional activity before a final evening game drive. Return to your lodge for dinner and your last night on safari.
