Upon arrival, enjoy a guided safari in search of Beisa oryx, kudu, gazelles, warthogs, and olive baboons. Birdwatchers can spot diverse savannah birds and birds of prey. Visit the spectacular Awash Falls, where the river plunges into a dramatic gorge surrounded by rugged volcanic scenery. Explore scenic viewpoints, capture beautiful photographs, and continue with a game drive through the park’s grasslands and woodlands. Later, transfer to Doho Lodge, a peaceful retreat surrounded by natural beauty. Depending on local conditions and accessibility, relax in the nearby hot springs and enjoy the palm-fringed surroundings. This day combines wildlife viewing, birdwatching, photography, and relaxation in Ethiopia’s beautiful natural landscapes.

Awash National Park – Addis Ababa

After an early breakfast, head out for a morning game drive when wildlife is often more active. Explore selected habitats in search of Beisa oryx, kudu, gazelles, dik-diks, warthogs, and other mammals. With patience and a little luck, you may also encounter jackals, hyenas, or other elusive wildlife.

Birdwatchers can look for bustards, weavers, hoopoes, hornbills, and birds of prey, depending on the season and habitat. Your guide will help identify species and select the best locations for wildlife observation and photography.

Late Morning: Final Wildlife Exploration and Departure

Enjoy a final opportunity to appreciate Awash National Park’s unique scenery and wildlife before beginning the return journey to Addis Ababa. Travel through the scenic Rift Valley landscapes, with suitable stops along the way as time permits.
