Take a morning flight from Johannesburg (OR Tambo) to Hoedspruit (Eastgate) Airport, where you are met on arrival and transferred to Kapama River Lodge in the Kapama Private Game Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger region and one of South Africa's largest privately owned reserves. After lunch and check-in, relax by the pool before setting out on an afternoon Big 5 game drive in an open vehicle, complete with a sundowner stop to toast the African sunset. Return to the lodge for dinner in the open-air boma or dining room, surrounded by the sounds of the bush.

Rise early for tea, coffee and pastries before heading out on a sunrise game drive in search of the Big 5 and other wildlife roaming the Kapama Private Game Reserve. Return to the lodge for a full breakfast and enjoy leisure time at the pool or spa during the heat of the day, followed by lunch. In the late afternoon you set out again on a game drive with your guide and tracker, pausing for a sundowner as the sun sets over the bush, before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Another early wake-up call with tea, coffee and pastries precedes a sunrise game drive through the Kapama Private Game Reserve, offering further opportunities to spot lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino. Back at the lodge, enjoy a full breakfast and relax by the pool or indulge in the spa and wellness centre before lunch. The afternoon brings another game drive with a sundowner stop overlooking the bush, rounded off with dinner back at the lodge for your final night at Kapama River Lodge.

Kapama to Cape Town

Enjoy one last early wake-up call for tea, coffee and pastries followed by a final sunrise game drive at Kapama before breakfast at the lodge. After checking out, you are transferred from Kapama to Hoedspruit (Eastgate) Airport for a flight to Cape Town. On arrival you are met and transferred to the Radisson Collection Hotel, Waterfront Cape Town, a luxury hotel on the Atlantic coast within walking distance of the V&A Waterfront. Check in and spend the rest of the day at leisure, perhaps exploring the Waterfront's shops and restaurants or simply relaxing at the hotel.

After breakfast, enjoy a half-day wine tour through the scenic Cape Winelands, visiting renowned estates for tastings of South Africa's celebrated wines amid historic Cape Dutch architecture and rolling vineyards. In the remainder of the day, take a half-day tour to Robben Island, departing by ferry from the V&A Waterfront, subject to sailing times and weather, to learn about the island's history as the former prison that held Nelson Mandela and other anti-apartheid leaders.
