Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be welcomed by an Afriquest Travels representative and begin your journey to Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda. Enjoy a scenic drive through the countryside, passing picturesque hills, terraced farms and traditional rural settlements.

Upon arrival in the Ruhengeri area, proceed to your lodge for check-in and lunch, depending on your arrival time. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the lodge or exploring the surrounding community, depending on your preferences and available time.

Later, enjoy dinner and prepare for the following day's mountain gorilla trekking adventure.

Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience and Transfer to Kigali

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters at Kinigi for a briefing by park rangers.

After the briefing, proceed into the forest with your ranger guide in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek takes you through the beautiful vegetation of the Virunga Mountains, offering opportunities to appreciate the region's remarkable biodiversity.

Once you locate the gorillas, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing and photographing them as they feed, interact and care for their young.

Trekking duration varies depending on the gorillas' location and the terrain.
After the trek, return to the starting point and meet your driver-guide. Depending on the finishing time, enjoy lunch before beginning your return journey to Kigali.

Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be dropped off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport for your onward journey, marking the end of your memorable Rwanda gorilla trekking safari.
