After an early breakfast at the hotel, you’ll embark on a 130km drive along a tarmac road to reach Tarangire National Park, which is home to a notable population of African elephants. The journey takes about two hours and 10 minutes. Tarangire stands out as a surprising highlight in the Northern circuit, offering a relatively large and tranquil game viewing experience compared to other parks in the region.

The park's main attraction is the impressive number of elephants, reaching up to 3,000 during peak months. In addition to elephants, the peak season also presents substantial herds of wildebeest and zebra, alongside giraffe, buffalo, Thomson's gazelle, greater and lesser kudu, eland, leopard, and cheetah. After your game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

The area boasts a population of over 25,000 large animals, including black rhinoceros, wildebeests, zebras, eland, and Grant's and Thomson's gazelles. Additionally, the crater has the densest known population of lions.

Moving higher up to the rain forests on the crater rim, you may encounter leopards, around 30 large elephants, mountain reedbuck, buffaloes, spotted hyenas, jackals, rare wild dogs, cheetahs, and other felines. Enjoy a full day of game driving, after which you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Even a first-time visitor to Africa could reasonably expect to observe around 100 of these in a single day.

Inland from the floodplain, a narrow belt of acacia woodland is the preferred habitat for Manyara's renowned tree-climbing lions and impressive tusked elephants. In the evening, after the game drive, you will head back to your hotel in Arusha for dinner and your overnight stay.
