Arrival and Aberdare Waterhole

Your driver-guide will meet you at the airport in Nairobi and take you toward the Aberdare Range. Enjoy the included lunch at Aberdare Country Club before continuing to The Ark Lodge. The lodge overlooks a waterhole, where you can watch for wildlife visiting to drink from its viewing areas. Elephants, antelope and other animals may appear, although sightings are never guaranteed. Settle in for dinner and an overnight stay. No game drive is scheduled on this arrival and transfer day.

Samburu Wildlife and River Landscapes

After breakfast, travel north to Samburu National Reserve, where dry-country scenery and the river create a striking setting for a safari. Arrive at Ashnil Samburu Camp for the included lunch, then head out on a guided game drive in a pop-up-roof minivan. Your guide will look for the animals and birds that use the reserve’s woodland, grassland and riverside habitats. Return to camp after the drive for dinner and an overnight stay. Wildlife sightings depend on conditions.

Leave Samburu after breakfast and travel to Lake Nakuru National Park. The park’s varied habitats offer chances to look for rhinos, giraffes, buffalo, waterbirds and, with luck, predators. After the included lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge, set out on an afternoon game drive in your pop-up-roof minivan. Your guide will follow current wildlife activity rather than a fixed list of sightings. From Lake Nakuru to the Masai Mara
