Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide from Let's Go Gorilla Uganda. After a short briefing about your safari, begin exploring one of Africa's cleanest and safest capitals.
Depending on your arrival time, visit some of Kigali's most significant landmarks, including the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where you will gain a deeper understanding of Rwanda's history and remarkable journey of reconciliation. If time allows, explore local craft markets where you can purchase handmade souvenirs and experience Rwanda's vibrant culture.

After lunch, depart Kigali and drive northwest toward Volcanoes National Park. The journey offers spectacular views of Rwanda's rolling green hills, picturesque villages, tea plantations, and beautiful countryside, making the drive an experience in itself. Upon arrival at your lodge, check in and relax while enjoying the peaceful surroundings at the foothills of the Virunga Volcanoes.

Gorilla trekking Volcanoes National Park

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast before transferring to Park headquarters for briefing conducted by park rangers. During the briefing, you will learn about gorilla behavior, trekking guidelines, conservation efforts, and safety procedures.
You will then be assigned a gorilla family based on your fitness level and begin your trek through the dense rainforest accompanied by experienced guides and armed park rangers.
Once your assigned gorilla family is located, you will spend one hour observing these magnificent primates as they feed, groom, play, and interact naturally within their habitat. Watching a silverback protect his family and young gorillas playing nearby creates memories that last a lifetime. Gorilla Guardians Village (optional and payable directly).
