Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be picked up at the airport and taken to your hotel in Arusha. The rest of the day is free. Relax, take a stroll, enjoy the sights and sounds. Get plenty of rest – tomorrow will be huge!

Day 2

Duration: 5 to 7hours of hiking
After an early morning breakfast at your lodge in Arusha, you will be picked up by the mountain guide from the hotel and transferred to the Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. At this time, the porters will organize and pack the belongings for the hike while you and your guide register with the Tanzania National Park. You will then begin your ascent in Arusha National Park. The first day of hiking is similar to a walking safari; you should expect to see giraffes, zebras, antelope, buffalo, and potentially elephants near the trail. Due to the high possibility of spotting wildlife, an armed ranger, hired through the National Park, is required to hike with our team for the duration of the hike. As you continue hiking, you will pass the Ngarenanyuki River and a beautiful waterfall at the base of Mount Meru. Upon arriving to Miriakamba Hut (2500meters), your chef will prepare a hot dinner and washing water for you. Enjoy the beautiful sunset and overnight.

Day 3

Duration: 3-5 hours of hiking
After breakfast, you will start ascending up the steep trail along the ridge of the saddle. You may see various wildlife along the way! The trail has views of Mt. Meru Crater and the Ash Tray. When you arrive at camp, you have the option of hiking Little Mt. Meru (3820m) with your guide to further acclimate. You will be served an early dinner, so you can receive ample rest before your midnight summit attempt. Get to sleep by 19: 00!
The walk from Miriakamba-Hut to the saddle below Little Meru is a short day but a steep climb. The walk will take us slowly along the ridge for a spectacular view of the Meru Crater and the impressive Ash Cone. After hot lunch at Saddle Hut we can make a short climb to the summit of Little Meru (3,820m) for superb views just before sunset.

Day 4
Saddle Hut (3500meters) - Summit Attempt (4566meters) - Miriakamba Hut ( 2500meters above sea level)

Duration: 10-12 hours of hiking
Your guide will wake you at 00:30 for tea and biscuits. You will then begin with your summit attempt up to around 1: 30 am. The trail starts off on a steep grade to Rhino Point (3800 meters) to the Cobra Point (4350meters). The last hour of the hike you will scamble on a rocky ridge between the crater and inner cliffs of Mount Meru. You will reach the summit of mount Meru (4565 meters) at sunrise with the spectacular views of Mount Meru Ash Tray and the Mount Kilimanjaro. Enjoy the beautiful view or the sight you will stay as long as how the climate and the condition will be allowing for your health, start descend to Saddle Hut for short break. Then continue with the descent to Miriakamba Hut for overnight

Day 5
From Meriakamba Hut - Momella Gate to Arusha

To day it will be an early start and after breakfast. We start taking a short and a little fast descent way through the open grassland and mixture of forest, with the possible of sighting of animals including Elephants, Zebras, Black and white colobus monkeys, Buffaloes, antelopes and the different kind of birds before reaching Momella Gate in the late morning. The returning transfer will be waiting at Momella Gate to pick you to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. if you will like a joining Safari Tanzania Northern circuits or Zanzibar we can arrange you a trip at an extra coast.
The tour can be upgraded to a higher standard accommodation at an extra cost. It can also be cheaper if less expensive (but still good quality) accommodation is used. The final cost of the tour depends on your budget and preference.

It's the final day in Tanzania so be sure to grab any last minute souvenirs you may want and say one last goodbye to the new friends you made in Tanzania before being transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
