Day 1

Windhoek - Sossusvlei

We will pick you up from your hotel or guest house between 7:00 am and 8:00 am and depart at 8:30 am straight on the way south to the world-famous Sossusvlei via picturesque Spreetshoogte Pass. You will then have a stop-over at the viewpoint to appreciate the endless view of the Namib. You will have lunch at the Solitaire Oasis. You will arrive at the lodge or campsite at around 3:00 pm-4:00 pm. This time is extremely hot, we recommend that you spend the day cooling off by the pool. Early rest is required as tomorrow you are expected to wake early in the morning.

Day 2

In the early morning, at sunrise, you will visit the Sesriem Gate to the remarkable Sossusvlei. You will start off by climbing picturesque Dune 45, experiencing the beauty and vastness of the orange-colored landscape. You will go on an off-road drive to the Dead Vlei, a place of the vast desert pan where dried-up, ancient acacias stand silent in the impressive, open-air gallery. If you have enough energy, you can climb one of the highest dunes on earth, the Big Daddy or Big Mama. After the morning excursion, you will return back to Sesriem for lunch. You will take a break for 1-2 hours. Once the heat subsides, you will take a short excursion to Sesriem Canyon. This will be your last activity for the day.

Day 3

Sossusvlei to Swakopmund

Namibia is a country of contrasts. Today you will move from desert to sea. On your way, you will cross the Tropic of Capricorn and traverse the Gaub and the Kuiseb passes, driving down to the dry river bed at the bottom of the Kuiseb Canyon before climbing up the other side and watching the spectacular desert landscape unfold before us. Having arrived at the coast, you will make a stop in Walvis Bay to enjoy the view of flamingos and other birds in the lagoons. You will take a short break for lunch. You will stay overnight in Swakopmund. Your dinner tonight is at your own expense in a local restaurant.

Day 4

In the morning you will go on an excursion to the seal colony at Cape Cross, north of Swakopmund, where you will be able to experience thousands of fur seals at close range. The rest of the day will be free with plenty of time to explore the town. Swakopmund is a very pleasant seaside town with lots of shops, a good stretch of beach (although the Atlantic is quite cold here), and an open-air curio market. There is also a very good museum and the Namibian National Marine Aquarium is located in Swakopmund. Alternatively, there are various optional activities that can be arranged. These include a boat tour (with oysters and champagne) scenic flights and micro-light flights over the desert, fishing trips (either from the beach or in a boat), quad-bike trips into the desert and over the sand dunes around Swakopmund, sandboarding, skydiving and many other activities. Your guide will discuss all the possible optional activities with you and offer to make pre-bookings in advance.

Day 5

Swakopmund - Etosha National Park

You will be picked up from your hotel between 8:00 am and 8:30 am. You will have a long drive today. On your way, you will stop in Usakos to fill up with petrol and provisions. You will have a picnic lunch in Outjo. You can expect to arrive in Okaukuejo in the afternoon. You will drive through some parts of the national park in search of various games. You will be at your respective accommodation just before sunset. Dinner will sum up the adventure and you will rest so that you can be able to wake up early and fresh for the full-day game drive tomorrow.

Day 6

Etosha National Park

Etosha National Park

You will rise early, have breakfast then start your full-day game drive in Etosha National Park. The early morning hours provide time for magnificent exploration as you visit the waterholes. You will get to visit the Etosha Pan (salt pan) before game driving across the park in search of the Big Five and other animal species. A light lunch will be provided allowing you some time to rest, gathering energy for your next adventure. After lunch and relaxation, you will visit the last waterhole which will be the last appreciation of Namibia’s beauty. Before sunset, you will head back to the lodge for dinner where you can share stories of your experiences of the day and also share and compare beautiful photos. After a night of stories and photos, you will turn in for the night.

Day 7

Etosha National Park - Windhoek

Etosha National Park - Windhoek

Be prepared for the long, scenic transit back to Windhoek. You will pass through towns and rural areas, stopping in the small town of Okahandja, the home of Namibia’s largest wood carving market. The stalls operate on a local co-operative basis and offer a vast array of truly Namibian souvenirs. In the afternoon, you will be back at Windhoek in the afternoon no later than 4:00 pm. You will be dropped off at your accommodation. For those who are returning back to their respective countries, please arrange with the guide so that you can drive as early as possible.
