The Serengeti is the world's last great wildlife refuge that contains millions of animals, most of which take part in the annual migration; one of the Natural Wonders of the World. The name Serengeti comes from the Maasai word 'Siringet' meaning “endless plains” and well defines the expansive plains that make up this amazing park. Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will set out to enjoy a full day game drive; taking you to different parts of the Serengeti. Central Serengeti offers superb game viewing year round due to its abundance of resident animals. The Seronera River Valley, in the Central Serengeti is a ‘must-see’ on every safari regardless of the specific month of travel. Game viewing here is at its best during the dry season (June - November) as resident animals are more concentrated in the immediate area due to the lack of water on the plains. Resident herbivores include impala, buffalo, hippo, warthog, topi, hartebeest and giraffe. Resident carnivores include lion and leopard. You will enjoy a picnic lunch along the drive and later return to camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, you will enjoy half of your day on a game drive in the Serengeti. There are several documented resident lion prides that can be seen during your game drive to the crater. During the dry season, the resident prides begin to shift west and north in their territories and concentrate in the central region of the park. The dry season is a particularly good time to view these prides in the Central Serengeti. The Central Serengeti is also one of the best areas in Africa to spot the elusive leopard. You may be lucky enough to encounter this majestic cat in the branches of the sausage trees that dot the banks of the Seronera River. In the afternoon, you will return to camp for lunch. After lunch, you will check-out of camp and begin your drive to the rim of Ngorongoro Crater. Upon arrival at the Simba Public Campsite, you will check-in, enjoy dinner and settle in for the night.

Called the “Eighth Natural Wonder of the World,” Ngorongoro Crater is the world's largest intact crater. Millions of years ago the volcano erupted causing the walls to collapse, creating a natural enclosure. Now the crater is filled with areas of acacia forest, hippo filled swamps and open grasslands. These varied habitats contain over 30,000 animals including elephant, warthog, flamingo, magnificent birdlife, the rare black rhinoceros and all the predatory cats. The Maasai tribesman can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside the buffalo and wildebeest. You will enjoy lunch at a spot where you can watch the area wildlife and then return to your game drive. After this amazing day, you will ascend back to the crater rim and travel back to Arusha where you will be dropped off at your designated location. This is where your safari will end.
