Drive to bwindi

You will begin your journey early in the morning either from Kampala or Entebbe, heading towards the southwest region of Uganda. During your drive, you will cross the Uganda Equator line and make a brief stop for an unforgettable photo opportunity with the equator monuments. As you continue your journey through the Savannah grasslands, you will witness plenty of lush banana plantations and the iconic Ankole cattle. These cattle are distinguished by their remarkably long curving horns. You will then ascend into the Kigezi highlands, where you will be treated to breathtaking views of lush green rolling hills, terraced farming, and mountainous scenery. Finally, you will arrive at your lodge late in the evening, where you will check in for dinner and an overnight stay.

Gorilla Trekking

After enjoying an early breakfast, your guide will take you to the park headquarters for a briefing on the activities by UWA ranger guides. Following the briefing, you will embark on a trek through the dense Bwindi jungle. The beauty of this rainforest is breathtaking, and the duration of the trek will depend on the movements of the great primates.

Spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an incredible and exciting experience that you will cherish. It will be hard to explain to your friends when you return home because mountain gorillas will surround you, infants will be in the trees above, and a huge silverback will pass by on all fours. If you're lucky, a baby gorilla may even pat you on the back as a bonus for your trip!

In the evening, you have the option of visiting the Batwa community, a group that once lived in the forest. This exposure to their culture will give you a glimpse into their way of life, dance, and stories that will leave you amazed.
