Day 1

Arusha - Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, our driver will take you to Lake Manyara for a game drive in the beautiful Manyara National Park. Here you will see buffalo, giraffe, zebra and much more, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Great Rift Wall. In the evening, drive to Tarangire with an en-route game drive. Arrive at Figtree campsite and Lodgefor your overnight stay.

Day 2

Manyara to Tarangire National Park

Manyara to Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast, proceed for a game drive to Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch. This national park is home to herds of up to 300 elephants. Watch them scrape the waterless riverbed for alternative streams, while nomadic wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland mass the lagoons. It's the largest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem - a smorgasbord for predators and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly seen. It is also the only national park that holds the migrants during the dry season and is home to various animal species. After a full-day game drive in Tarangire National Park, we will drive you back for dinner and overnight at Fig Tree campsite and Lodge.

After an early breakfast, proceed directly to the crater floor for a 5 - 6 hour crater tour with a picnic lunch. Descend into the crater where you will be able to see all of the Big Five animals. Proceed to Arusha in the evening. Overnight at our hotel which we booked for you.

Day 4

Maasai Village

Maasai Village

After breakfast, depart from the hotel with a packed lunch box. Drive to MonduliJuu, which is a collection of four small Maasai villages, namely Emairete, Enguiki, Eluwai and Mfereji.

Emairete comprises of a wonderful crater where, in former times, only the cattle of medicine men were allowed to graze. Enguiki village is named after its famous pastures. Eluwai is called after the trees where certain small ants have their habitat and that are whistling in the wind. Mfereji, a village down the escarpment, developed from a place where a South African lived who pulled a ditch down to bring water from the Monduli Mountains.

On the walking tour you can experience the following; a climbing trip through the evergreen rainforest where you will experience the trees, the birds and other habitats, you will also experience the traditional 'nyamachoma' with our Maasai warriors in 'Orpul' where you will taste the meat.

In the evening, head back to Arusha for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 5

Arusha to Kilimanjaro, Mandara hut

In the morning, you have to drive about 2 hrs to Kilimanjaro through the semi-tropical foothills to the Marangu area, which is situated on the south-eastern side of the mountain. As you drive, there are usually some admirable views of the snow-capped peak of the mountain. On arrival at Marangu gate, you meet your team of guides and porters, pick up any last-minute supplies for the trek, and head to the entrance of Mount Kilimanjaro National Park to register for the climb.

From the cluster of buildings at the gate, it is a 4 to 5-hour walk through patches of coffee plantations and dense rainforest to Mandara Hut. The forest teems with brightly-coloured birdlife, colobus, and other varieties of monkey. The flora includes numerous mosses, lichens and flowers.

Later in the evening, at the end of your tour, we will drop you off at the airport.
