Nairobi - Masai Mara National Reserve

This morning, you will start your three-day Masai Mara safari tour with a drive through the dramatic Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest’s migration and is home of the big five (lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino). Lunch at the camp and relax before departing for the afternoon game run. The Masai Mara National Reserve is one of the greatest wildernesses in the world. Large mammals are varied and easy to see. Residents of the park are Masai giraffe, buffalo, eland, and thousands of plains game including impala, zebra, topi, as well as both Thomson’s and grants gazelles. Overnight at the camp.

The search for great predators and perhaps even cubs continues today during extensive game runs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. During your stay, you also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Maasai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. Have an early morning tea / coffee or hot chocolate, then depart for a morning game drive. Here, you will find the old Africa of the movies, with rolling grasslands dotted by acacia trees and sweeping plains teeming with wildlife. No matter how much you have thought about Africa, this is more than you expected, and the ideal backdrop for a hot air balloon expedition. After a full English breakfast back at the camp, depart for Nairobi by road. End of your three days of Maasai Mara safari tour.
