Day 1
Lake Duluti

Our guide will pick you up from your hotel for a less than an hour drive to Lake Duluti. Lake Duluti is a small serene crater lake located at foots of Mount Meru. It is surrounded by a lush forest and it is a home to various bird species, reptiles and small mammals. During our stop there you will have a guided forest hike on a 2-3km walking trail surrounding the lake where you will get a glimpse at the colobus monkeys, monitor lizards and over 100 species of birds and plants. Canoeing on the lake is available as an optional activity, offering a serene experience and beautiful views of the surrounding forest. Afterward, you’ll enjoy lunch by the lake before continuing the journey to Mto wa mbu where we will get to visit the renowned African Galleria for cultural displays and optional art shopping. The day ends with a drive to Karatu for an overnight stay.

Day 2
Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park for full day safari with picnic lunches in hand. The park is situated inside of the Great Rift Valley with a distinctive evergreen forest that provides suitable habitat for olive baboons, monkeys, big families of elephants, tree climbing lions and African cape buffaloes. The park’s diverse landscapes ranging from lush groundwater forests to acacia woodlands and open grassy plains make a truly immersive wildlife experience. Afterward, you will enjoy lunch in the park before setting out for the open woodland areas where you will set your sights on giraffes, hippos and flamingos. After the afternoon game drive, you will drive back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3
Lake Eyasi

After an early breakfast, we will depart from your hotel in Karatu and head towards Lake Eyasi, one of Tanzania’s hidden cultural treasures with scenic views of the Rift Valley, volcanic landscapes and scattered Maasai settlements along the way. On this day you will enjoy a full day of exploring Lake Eyasi. You’ll start by visiting the local bushman (Hadzabe and Datonga Tribes). You will learn about the Hadzabe hunting-gathering lifestyle before joining them in a simulated bow and arrow hunt. Later in the day you’ll spend some time with the Datonga, considered to be Africa’s traditional iron smiths and observe as they use charcoal ovens to smelt iron and steel from local ore and get to know the relationship that these two ethnic groups have. In the midday you will have a picnic lunch then drive back to Karatu for the preparation of the next day adventures.

Day 4

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive in the majestic Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most iconic safari destinations in Africa. This massive volcanic caldera is not only home to the Big Five, but also features a striking crater lake, known as Lake Magadi, located at the heart of the crater floor. The shallow soda lake often shimmers in shades of pink and white and is a seasonal haven for flamingos, hippos and other waterbirds. As you drive across the crater’s grasslands and acacia woodlands, keep an eye out for elephants, lions, zebras, wildebeests and perhaps even the elusive black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the lake, taking in the incredible scenery before ascending the crater rim and making your way back to your hotel, filled with memories of this unforgettable day in the wild.

Day 5
Lake Natron

After an early breakfast we’ll depart from Karatu to Lake Natron. Along the way we will stop at the ancient Engaruka Ruins, one of Tanzania’s most significant archaeological sites. You’ll take a guided tour to explore the remains of a sophisticated farming society that once thrived there centuries ago. Afterwards we’ll continue the journey towards Lake Natron, a mineral-rich soda lake in northern Tanzania. It's a breeding ground for hundreds of thousands of lesser flamingos, despite the highly alkaline state of the striking red waters. It sits below Ol Doinyo Lengai, a soaring active volcano in the Rift Valley. The area around Lake Natron supports a variety of wildlife uniquely adapted to its harsh environment. Visitors might encounter zebras, giraffes and wildebeests traversing the surrounding plains and smaller mammals such as dik-diks and Grant's gazelles. Afterward, you’ll have a guided walk to the refreshing Ngaresero Waterfalls located in the narrow gorge.

Day 6
Arusha
Arusha
After an early breakfast, bid farewell to the scenic views of the Natron and begin your journey back to Arusha. Enjoy the drive through the landscapes, with opportunities to stop for souvenirs along the way. Arrive in Arusha by late morning or early afternoon, marking the end of your memorable lake and crater adventure.
