Tarangire National Park is almost 3000 sq. km in size and is probably best known for its huge numbers of elephants and baobab trees. Its name comes from the Tarangire River, which crosses through the park. Tarangire is especially spectacular during the dry season (June-November), when its wildlife concentrations rival that of the Serengeti. Serengeti National Park is the world's last great wildlife refuge. It contains an estimated three million large animals, most of which take part in a seasonal migration that is one of nature's most spectacular wonders. Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a full day in different parts of the Serengeti! Your overnight will be at the Four Seasons Safari Lodge. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.

The central Serengeti offers superb game viewing all year due to its abundance of resident animals. The Seronera River Valley in particular is a “must see” on every safari regardless of the specific month of travel. That said, game viewing in this area of the park is at its best during the dry season (June-November) as resident animals are more concentrated in the immediate area due to the lack of water on the plains. Resident herbivores include impala, buffalo, hippo, warthog, topi, hartebeest, and giraffe. Resident carnivores include lion and leopard.

Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater

You will have half-day game drive in the Serengeti and then eat lunch before driving to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater for our overnight stay at the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.

There are several resident lion prides within a one-hour game drive radius of the Seronera. During the dry season, the prides begin to shift west and north in their territories and concentrate in the central region of the park. The dry season is a particularly good time for lion viewing in the central Serengeti. This is also one of the best areas in Africa to spot the elusive leopard. You may be lucky enough to encounter this majestic cat in the branches of the sausage trees that dot the banks of the Seronera River.

Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha

After an early morning breakfast, you’ll descend into the crater for a game drive. Later you will be driven back to Arusha, which will conclude your safari. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Often called the eighth natural wonder of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater on Earth. About two million years ago the Ngorongoro volcano erupted and its walls collapsed. The volcano floor then sank, which created a natural enclosure with 600m tall walls. Now, at over 19km wide, Ngorongoro Crater features great stretches of acacia forest, hippo filled swamps, and open grasslands. These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals—including elephants, warthogs, flamingoes, magnificent birdlife, the rare black rhinoceros, and all the predatory cats. The Maasai can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside the buffalo and wildebeest.
