Day 1

After breakfast, you will drive to Tarangire National Park. The park has some of the highest populations of elephants anywhere in Tanzania. Its sparse vegetation, strewn with baobab and acacia trees, makes it a beautiful and special location. Before the rains, droves of gazelles, wildebeests, zebras, and giraffes migrate to its scrub plains where the last grazing lands still remain. You will check in at the Tarangire Sopa Lodge and have lunch. After lunch, you will enjoy a late afternoon game drive and then return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will embark on an exciting game drive in the park. You will view the amazing elephants that roam the park as well as the other wildlife that live there. You will return to the lodge for lunch. Afterward, you will enjoy a late afternoon game drive. In the evening, you will go back to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will check out and begin today’s game drive through the underground water forest, through the acacia woodland savannah, pass by hot water springs, and proceed to Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara is home to masses of majestic flamingos and other water birds. The park is home to tree-climbing lions, hippos, elephants, zebras, buffalos, giraffes, baboons, blue and velvet monkeys, warthogs, and more. About 350 species of birds have been recorded here. You will enjoy a picnic lunch during your drive. Later in the evening, you will check in at the Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

In the evening, you will return to the lodge for a sumptuous dinner and some time to relax at Intimate Places Tented Camp.

After breakfast, you will check out and begin your day on a morning and afternoon game drive in the park. In the afternoon, you will continue your drive to the northeast of the park to the Kogatende area where the main path of the Serengeti wildebeest migration crosses the Mara River. You will check in at the Mara Mara Tented Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay at Camp Zebra.

You will wake up early for breakfast. After breakfast, you will check out and descend to the crater floor for a once-in-a-lifetime game drive. All the Big Five live in this wonderful caldera, as well as zebras, hippos, wildebeests, hyenas, flamingos, geese, storks, vultures, and more. Your lunch will be served at the picnic site at Ngoitoktok Swamp where you can watch hippos and flamingos around the shore of the lake. After lunch, you will embark on your final game drive as you ascend the crater rim and then travel back to Arusha. Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight home. This is where your safari will end.
