Arrival – Kilimanjaro Airport - Moshi

You will be picked up from the airport by a Lappet Faced Safaris representative and transferred to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, you may have time to relax and prepare for the adventure of a lifetime ahead.

Moshi is an essential part of safari life in northern Tanzania, and most travelers pass through this vibrant town at some stage of their journey.

Moshi - Mkomazi National Park

Mkomazi National Park stands out from all other national parks as it has a black rhinoceros sanctuary and also a captive-breeding program for the African wild dog. Seeing these two unique endangered species is a once-in-a-million adventure together with other species such as giraffe, eland, hartebeest, zebra, buffalo, elephant, and the long-necked gerenuk.

Bird spotting is excellent with more than 450 avian species recorded, including endemics such as the cobalt-chested vulturine guinea-fowl and other large ground birds such as ostrich, kori bustard, secretary bird, and ground hornbill.
You will have a full day game drive in this magnificent park. Later in the evening, you'll drive to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Moshi - Mount Kilimanjaro (Day Hike)

This day trip involves a scenic drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate, which takes approximately 3–4 hours. Londorossi Gate is located on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro and serves as the starting point of the Lemosho Route.

The hike begins in the lush and productive rainforest, the first of Kilimanjaro’s four ecological zones. As you trek, you will enjoy rich vegetation, birdlife, and occasional wildlife sightings.

The trail gradually ascends toward the Shira Plateau, once believed to be Kilimanjaro’s third peak before it collapsed. From here, the route continues north to Moir Hut, with optional short hikes in the nearby Lent Hills, offering excellent opportunities for acclimatization and breathtaking views.

Arusha - Tarangire

Today, your safari adventure takes place in Tarangire National Park, one of the most fascinating wildlife destinations in Tanzania. The Tarangire River flows through the park and serves as a vital lifeline for wildlife. Along its banks, you will see giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and buffaloes gathering to drink.

These herbivores attract predators, making Tarangire home to a large population of lions, which you are very likely to encounter during your game drive.

Karatu - Serengeti

After an early breakfast, drive from Karatu to Central Serengeti (~5.5–6 hours), with a scenic route through the Ngorongoro highlands and a descent into the expansive Serengeti plains. After your Serengeti adventure, you will take a domestic flight from Seronera Airstrip to Arusha Airport, which is included in your tour. Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be met by our guide for a city tour, exploring local markets, cultural highlights, and attractions.

Following the city tour, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward flight.
