Your Botswana expedition begins the moment you touch down at Maun Airport, where a dedicated ranger and guide await to whisk you away on a scenic 20-minute transfer to the peaceful Boteti Tented Safari Lodge. Upon arrival, enjoy a refreshing welcome drink and a brief orientation to prepare you for the adventures ahead.

Take some time to settle into your luxury safari tent, an elevated sanctuary featuring en-suite facilities and a private veranda overlooking the water.

As the afternoon heat begins to fade, you will head to the riverbanks for a signature sunset mokoro ride. Gliding silently through the calm waters of the Boteti River, you will have front-row seats to observe hippos, crocodiles, and an array of vibrant waterbirds.

If river levels are too low, you will instead enjoy an authentic cultural immersion at Xobe Village.

The day concludes with a delicious traditional dinner served around a crackling open fire, perfectly framed by a brilliant canopy of stars.

Morning Game Drive in Khwai & Return to Maun

Your final morning in Khwai starts with a hearty breakfast before a thrilling farewell game drive through the Khwai Community Concession. This route takes you along the lush riverfront where elephants and red lechwe often feed in the shallows. You will also visit the striking, skeletal landscape of Dead Tree Island and traverse the Mogotho area, a favourite for high-density game viewing.

A unique highlight of this final drive is a visit to a local hyena den, offering a rare glimpse into the lives of these intelligent scavengers.

Your safari concludes with a comfortable transfer back to Maun, arriving by late afternoon for your drop-off at the airport or your preferred local destination.
