Arrive at the Animal Rehabilitation centre

This morning you will be collected by our guide and descend over the Abel Erasmus Mountain Pass to the Olifants River and from here to Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.
At Moholoholo the program will include a tour of the rehabilitation centre which starts at 3pm, a morning bush walk with a ranger in the local reserve, and night drive. The centre is a home to many of South Africa’s abandoned, injured and poisoned wildlife.
This serves as an excellent introduction to your Kruger Safari with the region's flora and fauna. After dinner, you will enjoy a night drive in the small private reserve around the lodge. You have a chance of seeing some of the night creatures such as the Serval, African Wildcat, African Genet, Porcupine, White-Tailed Mongoose, Aardwolf, Aardvark, Nightjar, Hyena, and various owls. It is impossible to predict what of course but every drive has its surprises.

Morning Bush Walk and Blyde Canyon Boat Tour

This morning enjoy an early morning bushwalk on the Moholoholo Reserve. The young rangers here will inform you about the smaller animals, birds, insects and plants of this region which are best explored and seen on foot.
After breakfast we travel into the Blyde River Canyon to enjoy a scenic 90 minute boat trip on the Blyde Dam. See the living Kadishi Tufa waterfall and the Three Rondawels from the boat. Wildlife is abundant, you'll be able to see hippo, crocodile, as well as African fish eagle. During the cruise, you will learn more about the history of the third largest canyon in the world.

We will then travel to your lodge in the Kruger Park area for the start of your safari.

Your guide will drop you at your Kruger lodge (or back in Johannesburg if doing this add on tour at the end of your safari). A drop off can be arranged at Nelspruit or Johannesburg airports if required.
