Day 1

Conquer the Great Plains of Serengeti

Conquer the Great Plains of Serengeti

Conquering the Great Plain of Serengeti
We’ll take breakfast, as we’ve got a big day of exploration and adventure ahead of us!

Today we depart in the morning and drive through the small village across the maasai steppe to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Southern Serengeti before reaching Serengeti National Park. The seemingly endless Serengeti Plains capture the essence of Africa. They are home to massive numbers of grazing animals and also various predators, and the interaction between the many species often provides some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities in the world.

Depending on wildlife movements and opportunities for sightings, the drive may continue through lunch and last all day.
The Serengeti is one of the world’s best known wildlife reserves due to its high volume of animals and its being home to one of the best known lions to ever have been conjured Simba, from the "The Lion King.” The warm afternoon smells of dry grass and soft earth.

Main Destination:
Central Serengeti National Park
Best Time To Visit January to February and June to October (Different areas are best at different times)

The Discovery the Serengeti National Park (Central Serengeti)
Early morning breakfast then depart for full day game drives in Serengeti Plains

Continue with full day safari to explore the Serengeti Wildlife Park. Covering an area of 14,763 km², the Serengeti comes from the word massaI which means the endless plains. This is where hundreds of thousands of herbivores (wildebeest, zebras) gather from December to March in search of new pastures, a concentration of prey which also attracts many felines. Picnic lunch. Afternoon devoted to researching animals. Return to camp before sunset. Dinner and overnight at campsite.

Enjoy stay at Baobab Serengeti Camp for another night again. Service: breakfast, lunch (or picnic), and dinner.

You will spend your time doing en-route game viewing whereby you will be passing through Olduvai Gorge and will stop for a picnic lunch while viewing the archaeological sites (and visit the museum) where early human tools and fossils have been found. Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

After breakfast, descend into the crater for a crater game drive.
Breakfast and lunch are provided. Later on in the day, you'll be driven back to Arusha, the drop-off point to be advised.
4 small bottles of water (500ml) per person are also provided.

Often called the eighth Natural Wonder of the World, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater in the world. About 2 million years ago the Ngorongoro volcano erupted, and its walls collapsed. The volcano floor sank to create a natural enclosure with its 600m tall walls. Now, at over 19 kilometres wide, Ngorongoro Crater is filled with great areas of acacia forest, hippo-filled swamps and open grasslands. These different habitats contain over 30,000 animals—including elephants, warthogs, flamingoes, magnificent birdlife, the rare black rhinoceros and all the predatory cats. The Maasai can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside the buffalo and wildebeest.
