Day 1

Our Uganda tour begins in Entebbe, where you're met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. If time permits, you may opt to visit the famous Entebbe Botanical Gardens. Established in 1902, the garden's fine collection of plants spans the country's tropical, sub-tropical and temperate zones. The gardens are also home to many different avian species, offering an excellent introduction to Uganda’s diverse birdlife. We usually spot vervet and black-and-white colobus monkeys here. Afterward, head to your hotel in Entebbe for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After an early breakfast, transfer to Kibale from the bustling Entebbe to Uganda's verdant highlands. Here, fertile volcanic soil supports a tapestry of tea, coffee and banana plantations. Arrive at our hilltop lodge in time for a late lunch and settle in before the sun dips behind the Rwenzori Mountains. Later, you will head to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3

Bigodi Swamp Walk & Afternoon Chimpanzee Tracking

This morning, a swamp walk through a wetland sanctuary could reveal more than a 100 bird species. After lunch, we meet our local trackers and begin our first chimpanzee trek in Kibale Forest National Park. This equatorial rainforest reserve has one of the highest concentrations of primates in the world, including 1,300 chimpanzees. We may also see red colobus, black-and-white colobus, red-tailed, gray-cheeked mangabey and other monkeys. Later, we head to the lodge for dinner and our overnight stay.

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park & Evening Game Drive

An early start launches an activity-filled day exploring Queen Elizabeth National Park, located along the western Rift Valley. The park is a microcosm of East Africa's safari highlights, home to a great diversity of wildlife residing among its volcanic craters, grassy plains and tropical forest. More than 600 bird species, one of the highest concentrations of any park in Africa, and nearly 100 different mammal species, are found in the park. It also include the Ugandan kob, an endemic antelope featured on the country's currency. Head out for an evening game drive to search for classic African wildlife, possibly spotting lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and antelope in the park's northern sector. Later, you head to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Explore Queen Elizabeth National Park

Explore Queen Elizabeth National Park

At 6.00 am, wake up for an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, exploring the area along Kasenyi and Queens’s Mile. Wildlife sightings include elephant, lion, buffalo, Uganda kob, waterbuck, warthog and various bird species. Afterward, we head back to the lodge for breakfast. In the afternoon, you will embark on a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel, getting close to hippos, buffalos and other wildlife. The boat trip offers excellent bird-watching opportunities as well as the chance to see elephants, warthogs and kobs. The banks of the channel are home to a rich variety of wildlife. This ride will leave you with an amazing experience on the water. When you are back on the shore, head to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 6

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Head westward to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, watching the scenery gradually change from open savannah to mountain slopes covered in dense, green rainforest. Upon arrival in Bwindi, check in and relax at the mountainside lodge, our base for the gorilla trekking.

Gorilla Trekking - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After an early breakfast, we start on our gorilla tracking at 8.00 am. We recommend that you wear good walking shoes and carry a rain jacket and a flask of water. Tracking can be tough and we trust you are in a reasonably fit condition (the return journey will be easier). You will carry a picnic lunch into the forest with you. You will be thrilled to see these rare primates (no guarantee). Return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 8

After breakfast, we go on a hike in the forest with a Batwa guide and Batwa people, who will provide you with the chance to see the forest and its habitats through their eyes. See how the Batwa lived and hunted traditionally. Enjoy trying out the hunting techniques as they teach you how to shoot with a bow and arrow. Visit a traditional Batwa homestead and learn from the women how to prepare, cook and serve a meal. You will also have the opportunity to sample the prepared dishes. Talk to a medicine man and learn about the medicinal properties of the forest flora. You will hear ancient legends and traditional songs. Later, head back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and your overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi. After the busy gorilla trekking, Lake Bunyonyi is a magical, stunningly beautiful lake in Uganda to relax and chill out. Check in to your lodge where you can go enjoy the swimmiming pool. After lunch, you will go on a boat trip on this beautiful lake. Later, head back to the lodge, where you will enjoy seeing the African sunset on Lake Bunyonyi.

Have an early breakfast, check out and start your journey back to Kampala, passing through rolling hills with terraces. You will have a great time viewing the lush vegetation of the different areas you go through. Have lunch in Mbarara town, then proceed to Entebbe in time for your air transfer back home.
